TitleGlasgow outdoors/nature volunteering?

I know there was a similar post a few days ago, but I wanted to ask something a bit more specific.

I moved to Glasgow for my PhD during lockdown last autumn. Ever since then I have been checking online every few weeks to see if any conservation/environmental groups were running events or taking on new volunteers. Most organisations' activities seem to be on hiatus/not taking new applications because of the pandemic. Before covid I used to volunteer casually at my local conservation group, and I would really like to engage with something similar or at least environmentally related and which requires physical work.

I don't have much experience, so anything I join would need to be newbie friendly, but I am very keen to learn. I also don't have a car so local groups (within 2-3h walking distance) would be better. I am looking for anything from gardening groups, working in parks, tree planting, conservation groups, woodland communities, etc as long as it's related to nature and not an office/fundraising/people-based job.

Any suggestions?
