TitleWider opinion on events in parks such as TRNSMT, euro fan zone etc.

Hi all,

I live in a housing development that’s right across the road from Glasgow Green. We have a a FB page for the estate and it’s nothing but moaning about events gone by or up coming events in the park. So much so it’s actually made the news recently... it’s too loud or, the rubbish left after it in the park, too much foot traffic etc etc...

Now, IMO I love these events, like the buzz of the place, get to hear the bands playing from my living room and if you’re lucky free tickets from the promoter to keep you happy.

Some of them don’t want any events at all in the park, they are of the opinion it’s a green space and basically it’s in the title deeds to their house/flat. I think this is incredibly selfish, why deny a whole city the chance to a music festival? They forget they live near enough in the city centre,.. if you want a nice wee quiet house fuck off to the country side.

There’s obviously pros and cons on both sides.

Anyway, I’ve rambled a bit there, would like to hear other people’s opinions on the matter if the council should be using parks like the green for large multiple day events.
