TitlePink Peacock café, thoughts?

I was pretty delighted for this place to open when I first heard about it, particularly given I'm half-Palestinian & there's overlaps in cuisine/culture. Despite the conflict there & myself personally being staunchly pro-Palestine, I still have a deep interest in Jewish culture/history & I have some really close Jewish friends who donated to the crowdfunder, so overall a shared sense of excitement.

However, I checked out their website and **sigh...**not one person of colour on their board of directors. I then started reading the minutes from the meetings, and while I respect their transparency in publically sharing these, the more I read the more the whole thing just seemed like a group of middle class white folk trying to give themselves a sense of importance and a pat on the back. Pretty disappointing. It also left me wondering if their use of 'community' is a fancy way of saying 'trust fund? in reality it's *their community of mummy and daddys money keeps them safe.* It's quite hilarious/cringe that they label themselves as 'anarchists', oh boy, but I guess their overall vision is still admirable.

I'd be interested to know other peoples thoughts, perhaps I'm being a little unfair?
