| Body | The university have just put up some new fences at the Garscube sports complex which block the kelvin walkway on that side of the river. I walk that way every lunchtime so it's really annoyed me but it's the way they've gone about it which is shite. The caretaker guys at the sports complex quite often get annoyed at people walking on the sports pitches themselves which I understand, and as such they put up the fence I've marked in red to stop people going on the field. However they've also put up a fence (the yellow one in my picture) which completely separates the two paths on the kelvin walkway so that you can't even walk around the edge of the fence for the field itself.
This seems like a pretty malicious use of fences to be honest and, aside from the fact that it is just a massive dick move from the uni, blocking off such a well used public footpath is surely contentious legally. I was wondering what the best way to go about complaining would be: should I write to the council, the university or both, or should I consider starting a petition or something? What are people's thoughts? |
