| Body | Anyone know of one? Not looking for light bulbs, sockets, or anything like that, more like resistors, diodes, capacitors, little breadboards etc for making electrical gadgets and experimenting. All this stuff can be bought from places like RS, Farnell, and amazon, but I'd much rather support a local hardware store if possible. Now maplins has gone I'm not sure where to look.
When I was a (very nerdy) kid, my mum bought me a load of this stuff as a present and it went a long way towards getting me interested in science at school. Much better than the normal science toys. A hobby set like this can fall completely flat very easily obviously, but can also make such a great gift for the right kid (that and I'm in need of a solid nostalgia boost). |
