TitleIs Springburn still a dodgy place to live?

I’m an Asian student returning to study in Glasgow from London - I mention my race because I feel that this will have an impact on my experience. I have only every really explored the West End and City centre... the furthest I’ve been out exploring was in Drumchapel for a day which I thought was okay in terms of my own safety (was expecting to get stabbed or held up).

I know what people say about Springburn as I’ve read the forums and threads across the internet from the past 5/10 years or so and have also read about the random attack recently but I’m curious if it is still the same dodgy plce.

The reason why I’m interested in moving here is because it’s a nice cheap 1 bedroom flat. I know cheap is a red flag, but I don’t have a lot of choice...

Has Springburn changed, or is it still pretty dodgy?

Edit:...I’ve also explored bits of the Southside which I thought was very nice considering it’s recent history
