I rent a Tenement in the south side and it's an absolute nightmare to keep warm. I knew vaguely that it could be a challenge when I moved up last year during lockdown but last winter was horrific. The landlord refuses to do any maintence of the exterior of the property (cracks everywhere and failing window seals), and it was so bad I had to abandon the back half of my flat like an elderly Victorian. It cost me well over £100 a month in gas and electric (from £40 in the summer/autumn).
Do you have any advice/tips/recommendations on ways I can keep my flat warm this winter? My rental agreement limits how much I can do on the property, but I'm open to all suggestions.
