Something that's been bugging me since I moved, if you look at a map of Glasgow (as in the official Council boundaries) there's a pretty big chunk where somebody's cut Rutherglen out of it and glued it crudely onto the top of South Lanarkshire. Some cursery googling tells me that Rutherglen was a ward of Glasgow until 1996 when it changed over to SL, but for the life of me I can't find any info as to why. Anybody happen to know what went on there?
