**Travel**



Due to urgent repairs to the track between Kilmarnock and Barassie all lines are closed. Disruption is expected until the end of the day on 26/06/22.

Train services between Ayr and Kilmarnock have been suspended.

Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible..

* Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail.

Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..

* If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.

Option 3 - Rail Replacement Transport..

* We have 2 replacement buses operated by Coast to Coast and Temporal will be running between Ayr and Kilmarnock and will run to the following timetable.

* Kilmarnock 11:24 13:02 15:15 19:03

Troon 11:48 13:26 15:39 19:27

Ayr 12:19 13:57 16:10 19:58

* Ayr 10:54 12:30 14:48 16:28 19:53

Prestwick Town 16:42

Option 4 - Consider travelling later..

* You might wish to consider postponing your journey until our services return to normal.

* The line is closed between Barassie and Kilmarnock due to a sink hole.

* Our response team are working with the coal authority for this area, once full assessment of the site has been carried out a plan will be put in place for repairs, therefore at present we have no estimate for the line reopening.

* As soon as we have more information we will let you know.

* Please note, services between Ayr and Girvan/Stranraer and between Glasgow Central and Kilmarnock in both directions will run as scheduled.
