TitleWould "WE SCOTS" be less chest-tighteningly infuriating to Glaswegians if it was "US SCOTS"?

I think that's the thing that sends my brain for a ride when that fuckin ad comes on; the fact that I've never heard a single Scottish person use the words "we Scots" in conversation. It's probably more likely that your brain would subliminally interpret it as "wee Scots".

Wouldn't "Us Scots" or even just "Scots" be a far more appropriate wording if you were actually aiming at appealing to the folk supposedly in it?

Maybe "We Scots" comes across as incredibly patronising because it's not something we'd normally hear leave the mouths of the people around us (No True Scotsman and all that, yes, but still). It's like every ad you see for or featuring Scotland was written by someone who *just about* knows what Scotland is.

It's Cultural Uncanny Valley. How do you do, fellow Scots.

Or mebbe I'm talking shite and cunts say "we Scots" all the time. Who knows.
