I doubt any of you are up but any responses to this would be grand.
I’m 18 and just moved back in with my Mum after being abroad with my Dad for a couple of years.
Due to paranoia going through the roof right now, I won’t say where I’m at, but I don’t doubt many of you will be able to figure it out.
About 45 minutes ago, a car came screeching through the street and I honestly thought it was just a drunk driver. Shortly thereafter, a bunch of screaming and shouting roared out and doors were being slammed. It sounded aggravated as all fuck, and eventually someone opposite the flat opened his door. The noise stopped, but from peeking out the window, it looks like something heated is/was going on.
After I heard all this, I double checked the doors were locked, and they were. I then went in to see my Mum, and suggested phoning the police. My mum immediately told me not to, saying that this just isn’t an area where you do that because the people here are ‘dangerous’.
Now I’m inclined to trust her since she’s lived here for about 3 years and I don’t want to step on toes or anything. But I don’t know, this startled the shit out of me, and I feel like I need to get a second opinion on what to do should this happen again. My girlfriend is coming over from Italy soon and the last thing I need is for her to feel unsafe .
