Body | I wrote this in Scotland sub reddit, but was told I should post it here too:
I'm a 24F. I'm originally from England, but I've been living in Canada the past 8 years. I've been offered a cadet sponsorship from Glasgow for Nautical science & they'd prefer I go to school in Glasgow. (Was originally looking at Southampton). I've never been to Scotland before so I have no idea what it's like. The most north I've ever been is Manchester. Will people automatically not like me for having an English accent? What is the weather like? What Scottish stereotypes are accurate & inaccurate? How is the public transport? (I won't have a car) How similar & different is it compared to the rest of the UK? What should I check out in Glasgow? I don't need to worry about rentals because my sponsorship have offered to pay for accommodation. Are there plenty of LGBTQ+ people there? Any other advice? |
