TitleNone-demonational vs Catholic education

Apologies for coming across a bit Mumsnet & all, but as someone who is not really religious, but will soon be deciding which school to enrol my child in, I'm just wondering what (if any) are the main difference/advantages between a none demonational school & a catholic school.

I myself didn't go to school in the west of Scotland so there weren't really many catholic schools, just schools, but they're pretty numerous here in Glasgow & Lanarkshire.

Do you have to be Catholic to go to a Catholic school?

And are none demonational schools more mixed, or are they by default 90% Rangers supporting protestant kids?

More importantly which tends to give a child the better education?

Has anyone any experiences of both?
