So...obviously house prices are nuts. I live in a one bedroom terraced bungalow with a large back and front garden. I’ve got equity in the house and am thinking it might be wise to extend rather than move. Only thing is, I’ve no clue where to start! A couple of neighbours have extended recently but I don’t really know them to ask for advice. My mortgage fixed deal is up in November, so I’m thinking this is the right time to explore potential options. Do I need an architect? I’ve no clue what the potential of my house is but ideally I’d love a 3 bed home - either up the way, or out the way. Should I call the planning department for advice? What’s the general idea for someone who has no clue about this kinda stuff.
