Hi there.

I have recently moved to Glasgow. Although I was born in Glasgow, I never have actually lived here. I lived mostly in different parts of Europe and for the last few years in Edinburgh. My impression is…..Edinburgh is beautiful but Glasgow is interesting. Am I wrong?

Anyway, being new to the city, there are a few things I would like to get a heads up on, from locals who know the city well.

I am living in Southside.

Is there anywhere in the city to drink Turkish coffee with cardemon. I don’t mean just to buy it but to actually sit down and drink it?

Where is the best art supplier for all kind of paints, arts and craft stuff etc, preferably South.

In my neighbourhood there seems to be no Chinese supermarkets, something which surprised me since Edinburgh is full of them everywhere, where would be the nearest?

Any tips where I could meet acoustic musicians who don’t play exclusively Scottish folk music.

And what tips do you have for unusual, maybe small, live venues, for performances, spoken word, acoustic music, art installations and so on?

Ok that was it. Thanks a lot
