| Body | Thanks in advance for your help everyone. Long story short: I moved to a tenement apartment a few months ago and am struggling with the noise coming from the upstairs flat.
First there’s the noise from music, I think they’re some sort of musicians, so there’s practice for much of the day, and tunes are played again and again which is sometimes great but not always.
The other noise is the sound of footsteps, it keeps going and going interminably somewhat like a caged panther running amok around the entire flat, and for some reason it gets quite intense. Two of the ceiling mounted smoke detectors have come loose and fallen down kind of intense.
This seems to repeat at certain times of the day but it’s particularly bad at night after 11pm, when it’s very quiet. I can also hear doors being slammed shut which isn’t very helpful when you’re trying to sleep. The floor seems really thin if you get what I mean.
Ear plugs work to an extent, but not entirely. The sleep disruption is particularly beginning to affect me.
This does appear to be a problem with tenements but didn’t think it would be this bad.
What’s the best way to deal with this, other than moving out? I’m going to have a chat with them soon but thought of asking here first for some wisdom 😀 |
