TitleHow to handle a stubborn letting agency?
AuthorStraight_Gap267
Body
Have been having an issue with the door knobs of the living room ever since we moved in to this rental flat. Too tight, jammed up - I can turn it with a LOT of pressure but my wife, parents, kids surely cannot. Reported to the letting agency (as they do the management) multiple times - they sent a heavy/burly man who could turn it with his hand and reported back that nothing was wrong. I wrote back explaining why he could do it and I could too (with more force than him), but that no one else in the family could turn that knob - making it a safety hazard when I am not at home, as people could get stuck in that room.

This is what the letting agency replies --- "We can advise after speaking to maintenance and also the landlord there is no action required from us to fix the handles as they are operating correctly and it is just that you are unable to use them correctly. We would suggest to leave the doors open in order to prevent you from being unable to open the door. "

What a royally sad reply ! Is there something I can do here ? Or am I left in the dark ?
