| Body | It was near Asda Toryglen. I was driving at the 30mph speed as you would, then this black car that was behind pulls up next to me at the traffic lights. Some guy yells to who I think was his girlfriend who was in the driver seat âLook itâs a f*cking n*gn*gâ. I do think he said it loud enough so that I would hear it.
Bear in mind my driving instructor was right next to me and didnât say anything. I looked at him smiling and he was just looking straight ahead lol. Also I knew I couldnât react to it in such a traffic busy area.
So I just went along and stopped at the next set of traffic lights and there the black car pulls up again. I make eye contact with the racist then he starts ranting that âblack men shouldnât be in this countryâ. I look across to the drivers seat and see his girl red faced and looking straight ahead.
I ask my instructor if we could pull into the Asda car park because I couldnât listen to another minute of his racist shite. The whole incident distracted me for the rest of my lesson.
I was obviously disappointed at the fact that people in the city I was born and raised in still treat me like an outsider, but I wonât let a couple of bad apples dictate my love for this beautiful city. |
