TitleQuestion about Google maps, busses and odd recomendations

Last night I was around Buchanan Station around 10pm and wanted to go home. I always take the train but there was a strike so my only option was the bus.

I set in Google maps my home address, and I let it tell me what to do. I thought it'd tell me to wait in the bus station and take the 263 or the 267 (I've never used these buses but they serve my area).

Instead of waiting , Google recommended to walk 11 minutes and take the 267 in Garth street. For all I know the 267 starts in Buchanan bus station, so I couldn't understand why Google sent me there.

Anyway I went to the bus stop in Garth street and I saw a few buses coming down rammed and not stopping. I asked someone in the stop and they told me it has been like that for a while. Without trains it made sense. I didn't want to wait 30 minutes and potentially miss a full bus and wait for another 30 minutes, so I took a taxi home.

I didn't think much last night, but now I find confusing that instead of telling me to queue where the bus starts , Google told me to go to a bus stop.

I have no idea if I'm wrong and that's the only bus stop and it doesn't stop in Buchanan bus station. Or if it was a glitch in Googles optimizer, and if they wanted me to get the bus so I pay a taxi.
