| Body | Right so im american moving to glasgow for uni in a couple weeks and im worried ill look like an ass cause i pick up accents.
Ive got ADHD and its common for adhd peeps to pick up phrases or whole accents unintentionally just cause your brain thinks its fun and cool. Normally not a problem, however i do it REALLY BADLY. Like watching a long enough youtube video of someone with an english-speaking accent influences the way i speak for a very short period. When i went to Ireland a few years back there were points where i had to fake my normal way of speaking.
Will people think im trying to mock them or something if they know im american? How long does it usually take people to naturally gain an accent in a new place, so i know when to relax about it? Thx in advance. |
