| Body | Hey folks! The ***Queens Park Chess Club*** started up again on the 30th of August and had a really good turnout. We held an optional freshers session on the first day back where we introduced some basic etiquette, notation, rules etc before commencing a bunch of games. We decided that we would hold another freshers session again tomorrow (6th of September) for those that missed out on the first session but really wanted to learn! We're still operating in the **Wellcroft Bowling Club** and we will be active between **6:30pm-9pm**. It will be remain completely free to play casual games at the club. For those that aren't already aware too, we also meet on Sundays in Queens Park at the duck pond for some casual chess between 10am-1pm. We would love to see even more new faces! Also, we have recently updated our policy regarding age-requirements. **We no longer allow under 16's at the club on Tuesdays** although they are still welcome on Sundays if accompanied by an adult. This decision was made simply because we aren't prepared for the legalities that are involved yet. This policy may change in the future as we expand. For anyone wanting to find a club for their children though, the ***Queens Park Chess Club*** are more than happy to help direct you to appropriate clubs with thriving junior sections (such as **Phones** or **Hamilton chess club**). Finally, we have entered two teams into the **Dumbarton League** and one team into the **Glasgow League** this year for some competitive team tournament games. If you're feeling interested in participating then either leave a comment here or contact the club directly either through our Instagram, Facebook or email which you can find on our website. Club membership and subsequent entry into league games will cost **£40** for an entire year, or just **£20 for pensioners, students and the unemployed**. We are flexible with payments. We hope to see some new faces tomorrow and in the coming weeks!
