I’m a Glasgow-based artist and last year I submitted this comic as part of my thesis project for a Masters I was studying in Dundee. I used the 9/11 terrorist attacks as a metaphor for the pandemic and lockdowns as we were still experiencing them.
As you all know Glasgow experienced some of the longest, strictest lockdowns in the U.K. I really wanted to make a reflective comic about my feelings at the time. I think there are many similarities to the 9/11 attacks, the main one being the major ramifications coming out of the pandemic we couldn’t predict or see at the time.
