I can't believe I am actually typing this but I think myself and my husband are being targeted by a neighbour because we are catholics, while he, our male neighbour is in the orange order its the women who has always been very hostile to us, I always said just kill it with kindness and we carried on trying to be good neighbours.

We are very quiet in general the only thing that might be annoying them is my husband sometimes has family round to watch the celtic games and sometimes they shout "yes" or " ya dancer" something like that, if they shouted anything sectarian they would be ejected promptly and not be allowed back. I was in the bedroom late at night during the summer reading while they were having a party in their garden. Somebody shouted and someone else said shh the neighbours and then she (our female neighbour, obviously drunk) said "fuck them they're just a couple of fenians". Not very nice but sort of expected.

Now somebody keeps keying our car, we called the police who said it was probably just kids and nothing they could do but where we live at the end of a cul-de-sac we just don't get any passing traffic. No other cars get scratched and its a pretty old car not the sort of inspire envy, its just depressing someone would do this repeatedly. I think we need to get a camera of some sort to try and catch who ever is doing it but I just want it to stop, I don't want a war! They also called the police on us once when we took a package in for them, they were away and didn't come back until very late after we were in bed, the courier who left the package with us did not leave a card with them so they saw it was delivered and but they didn't have it or know where it was. When we got back from work the next day and saw they were in my husband went round with their package and rather than say oh thanks they said, the police are involved with this, this is an iphone and its been reported stolen. They have accused us of stealing packages before and so now I never take anything in for them and now the complain about that too.

Maybe I'm just off loading here, maybe the fact that we are catholics is incidental but they don't seem to have any issue with other neighbours that I know of and neither do we. Its just getting me down, because I don't want to go down the road of police and council etc, I just want it to stop, we can ignore each other if thats what they prefer but just stop with the nonsense.
