TitleWanting some friends but you guessed it, it's hard an awkward as an adult

TL;DR got no friends and don't know how to go about making any. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with clubs/groups that are good for beginners that are a bit of an introvert?

Bit of an embarrassing post but here we go.

So I'm in my mid 20's (M) and after living in Glasgow all my life have got no idea on how to make any friends. Basically, I have none. Used to have a good group of "friends" from secondary school but that almost immediately fizzled out after school due to defending my now wife from that group picking on her all the time. That was 6 years ago. Been on my own since then really.

I've tried socialising with colleagues in work but never seemed to connect with them all that much to warrant hanging out with them outside work.

I suppose eventually if love to have a little group or circle of friends of my own. Being out the game for 6 years though I'll probably find it quite hard getting into the swing of socialising but I'd love to try and give it ago.

To make it even harder, I don't drink either so I guess pubs/clubs are out of the question? Been quite hard finding people that also aren't interested in going out and drinking all the time.

Now I get that with the whole coronavirus pandemic going on it'll be impossible to actually go out and meet with people, however I'm hoping to get an idea once this is all over.

Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated :)
