Body | I was 15 back then. I fucking loved it.
The people were friendly as hell, your countryside is gorgeous, and at one of your beautiful parks I saw an old lady and a man call each other cunts and various other words both revolving and not revolving around human genitalia. I was awesome. I found everything about Glasgow awesome. The unique infrastructure, how non-crowded it is, how clean it is.
I expected some casual racism because there was something in the news about some man murdering someone he thought was Pakistani at the time (I'm Indian)- but nada. Everyone was friendly and chatty- which was completely different from where I used to live at the time, Dubai, where South Asians are treated like shit.
I'm 21 now, and I wrote this because it's 3am in India and I can't sleep and was randomly reminiscing about my memories with my fam visiting the UK. I hope that within 3-4 years I can save enough to visit Glasgow and Edinburgh (fuck, all the history) again. I hope you guys cherish your country, you're very lucky to live where you live. |
