  • Working in the care sector, it’s not just a job to help earn extra money. You need to be caring, patient and compassionate if you’re thinking of a job in the care industry. Plus, most care homes do twelve hour shifts which are tough, if you end up cramming loads in, it takes a toll on your mental health and attitude. Nothing worse than someone coming into the job just for the cash, you’re sometimes working with vulnerable people and the job can be mentally draining ☺️just thought I’d add this in ❤️ by Ashleigh_08 (Thu 29th Jun 2023 9:41am)
  • Fair enough 😄 I’m just of the opinion that you need to have a caring attitude towards the job. I’ve worked in many care homes and hospitals and especially in care homes I’ve witnessed people coming into the job and treating residents with no compassion. So personally I think it helps if you have a caring attitude. I agree being professional is important too, in relation to the emotional labour I’m not saying that needs to be included obviously. The reason why these positions aren’t being filled is due to the unfair pay and long hours. As well as the stress and working in sometimes unfair conditions. by Ashleigh_08 (Thu 29th Jun 2023 10:22am)
