  • They were branded as something slightly different for a while, a more fast food version of KoolBa, can't remember the name, but that was always empty, so I guess they just changed it to a full on KoolBa branding. EDIT: yup, they were trading as "KoolBites bistro" by AuxiliaryJ (Fri 11th Jan 2019 12:46am)

  • Jobs don't really come with health insurance here (some professional jobs do), as we have the NHS, I don't understand EHIC enough to say, but in the UK, it's something we can always apply for. https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/healthcare-abroad/apply-for-a-free-ehic-european-health-insurance-card/ You should talk to your Uni when you can, they'll help you, I think there's even a University GP you can register with. by AuxiliaryJ (Tue 6th Aug 2019 2:41pm)

  • Which apparently comes from the Hebrew Magen David: > Mogen David is the Yiddish pronunciation of the Hebrew Magen David, which literally means "shield of David", but is used metaphorically to refer to the six-pointed Star of David. Mental. by AuxiliaryJ (Fri 30th Aug 2019 11:25am)
  • Yeah, Bucks, but I feel like the quality/size has varied every time I've went. Never bad though. El Perro also do surprisingly good wings. Hoagie's on the Southside do decent ones too. Bloc too, both the Finnieston one and the Bath Street one. Steak, Cattle and Roll used to do nice ones but haven't been to one in a while. by AuxiliaryJ (Fri 30th Aug 2019 3:01pm)
  • Haha I saw this the other day, I also noticed there was no taxi plates on it, so seriously considered if it was as dodgy of a taxi as it looks. by AuxiliaryJ (Tue 10th Sep 2019 8:57am)

  • DELETED Yeah, this is Randell's. Had a weird military section with a worrying amount of nazi flags/memorabilia for a while, but it's changed to more hipster stalls, jewelry, paintings, etc. Some of those very racist dolls are still lying about though. by AuxiliaryJ (Sat 16th Nov 2019 3:27pm)

  • Yeah, that's why I said pretty close, it even mentions the weird head on the bottle. Still much better than the current recipe. by AuxiliaryJ (Tue 3rd Dec 2019 9:29am)
  • When you call the police, make sure to "fluff" the truth, say you feel threatened, they're at your door, trying your door, whatever, but it'll make the response time faster. Immoral, k know, but I had the same issue with them showing up after they're gone. Also get friends/family to pretend they're neighbours and phone. Or get your actual neighbours to, if you talk to them. Phone the second you hear anything in the close you don't like, don't wait for it to be bad/obvious. But also yeah, contact your landlord, constantly, about the issue. Contact the factor directly if you can I guess, and contact the council's landlord registration place (wherever it is) if it's not sorted. by AuxiliaryJ (Sun 22nd Dec 2019 10:19am)

  • I got a litter picker and cleaned a grassy bit near my flat. Literally an hour later it already had bottles and fag packets all over it. by AuxiliaryJ (Sun 22nd Mar 2020 9:07am)
  • Nothing you can do until we take the steps other countries have done and make gathering anywhere illegal, then you can (rightly so) grass them in. Kids do seem to just be treating it as an early summer holiday right now. Doesn't help the media keeps telling us that young people have nothing to worry about, concerning their own health. by AuxiliaryJ (Sun 22nd Mar 2020 2:01pm)
  • I can hear my downstair neighbour coming in and out of the close as if nothings happening and it's doing my fucking nut in. by AuxiliaryJ (Wed 25th Mar 2020 3:58pm)

  • I was around when it was all happening, I saw a big line of people getting taken to a church on Albert drive. Poor fucking people. by AuxiliaryJ (Wed 1st Apr 2020 11:24pm)
  • Wait, does she only have one eye? She made me walk her to a bus stop and it took 20 minutes, I felt too guilty to say no. I am also a young-ish male... by AuxiliaryJ (Thu 16th Apr 2020 8:40pm)
  • Anyone feeling particularly doom-and-gloomy with all the news of the fact having the virus may not mean you have immunity? I was already worried about a family member who was at risk (heavily asthmatic) getting it, and when they did (and thankfully recovered), I was really glad that he'd got it out the way, but it took a seriously toll on him to the point it looked like he had aged like 20 years last time I saw him. The idea of him getting it again is seriously concerning. I'm also selfishly worried about getting it myself, of course, and if my anxiety of having it would do more harm than the actual virus, I'm definitely a hypochondriac... by AuxiliaryJ (Sat 25th Apr 2020 1:55pm)
  • Yeah get Anker, I got a twin pack of the red, fabric ones and they've lasted since my first usb C phone in 2015ish. by AuxiliaryJ (Wed 29th Apr 2020 2:26pm)

  • If it's to get rid of flies, have you tried an Apple Cider Vinegar trap? You basically get a boy, fill it a bit with the vinegar, and then a drop of dish soap. Worked magic in my flat, ends up a mass grave of flies. by AuxiliaryJ (Wed 10th Jun 2020 3:27pm)
  • Seems to have worked with any fly I've had, but I guess they've been mostly small ones. Never realised they could all have been fruit flies. by AuxiliaryJ (Wed 10th Jun 2020 7:52pm)

  • The amount of GU students/graduates I've had to deal with who insist on trying to "correct" my Glaswegian accent is staggering. Mind you, obviously not on the same level as the racism they no doubt spew out too. by AuxiliaryJ (Thu 18th Feb 2021 1:20pm)
  • Doesn't count as fly tipping by the council if its on private property, including back courts. I've had the same issue and they won't acknowledge it at all. by AuxiliaryJ (Tue 20th Jul 2021 12:02pm)
  • Like people have said, all tenacys are short term (28 days rolling), just don't mention your short stay intentions, as some landlords/agencies will avoid you because of it. by AuxiliaryJ (Tue 10th Aug 2021 6:15pm)
  • I know this road well. Surprised this hasn't happened sooner. It's a really long road with maybe 3 traffic light crossings along it. Croftfoot Roundabout is impossible to cross in any direction, and the lights (which you need to walk a decent distance to) last for a few seconds for pedestrians. There's also an aggressive bend in the road with a massive hill leading to it. Absolutely shocking there are so few crossings on it in such a suburban place with so many schools and shops about, but not surprised in such a car-centric city. by AuxiliaryJ (Fri 14th Jan 2022 1:23pm)
  • They bake the buns in house, they talk about it on instagram. Love El Perro btw. Yup, here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CBP9lWPFILJ/ by AuxiliaryJ (Sat 19th Feb 2022 11:45pm)
