  • I'm just about to move to Glasgow and managed to find a reasonable pad to rent Southside. I came up for a week, stayed in a really cheap hostel and set up email alerts on OnTheMarket, Rightmove etc. Then instead of applying online, I just phoned them as soon as the alert came through. Having an actual chat on the phone with a human IRL seemed to make it easier to bag a viewing. Also, (of course, I don't know your current situation) it might be worth taking some time off work if possible, to make sure you're always available to view at the earliest opportunity. Good luck with your flat hunt! It's pretty demoralising out there, but don't give up - you'll find something! by Aware_Albatross2999 (Fri 13th May 2022 6:20pm)
  • Possibly a bit weird to offer free dog walking on Reddit. However, I’ve just moved to Glasgow, in Mount Florida and would absolutely love a regular pooch hang! I’m looking forward to some park exploring anyway, so I might as well do it with a dog friend. Have looked after many a pooch, from gentle giant poodles to mildly insane Jack Russells, and happy to meet for a pint or something beforehand to try and prove I’m not a dog thief! by Aware_Albatross2999 (Fri 3rd Jun 2022 6:46pm)
  • I joined the sub about 6 months ago as was planning to move here from England. Lurked for a while, reading your fucking hilarious posts. Then I moved here. by Aware_Albatross2999 (Wed 8th Jun 2022 7:01pm)
  • Hallowed turf apparently for the Gen-Z crew. There’s ‘Best Chippy’ near my flat which I’m guessing is my new local chippy. Not sure it’s as much of a destination? by Aware_Albatross2999 (Fri 1st Jul 2022 10:50pm)
  • If you’re looking for something a little more personal… I’ve just moved here. I’ve looked after massive Newfoundlands, very cheeky Jack Russells, and chilled giant poodles too. Basically, I’m a dab dog hand. Happy to help, if you’re on hols or need the odd weekend sans doggo. Drop me a DM by Aware_Albatross2999 (Thu 6th Apr 2023 7:22pm)

  • I'm lucky as all my current tenement neighbours have been pretty chilled. The kids next door do run around loudly at like 6am, but for me it's just an alarm clock for a slight lazy single childless person. This probably sounds completely weird, but hearing noises and stuff actually makes me feel less alone! At least I live in a community of human beings doing normal stuff, like walking around or shouting at mum occasionally! Better than living in silence. Also, TBF the kids occasionally get some Rihanna through the walls on Fridays in return. by Aware_Albatross2999 (Sat 20th May 2023 11:05pm)
