  • One thing I've not seen anyone mention here in the bike vs scooter debate is the fact that scooters don't have shock absorbers and you're more likely to go flying head over heels if you hit a pothole given the standing posture of a scooter. Knowing Glasgow road conditions it's worth keeping in mind! Stay safe pal xx by Bongo_Muffin (Tue 18th Jan 2022 12:39am)
  • Mines up £25 a month but I don't have the energy to fight the increase, especially since I know they could've gouged me for so much more and I'd rather not piss off the agency by Bongo_Muffin (Mon 21st Mar 2022 7:14pm)

  • Salt & Chilli Oriental is a personal favorite; it's nothing super complicated and the menu is somewhat limited, but what they make they make WELL. Always comes super fast with short queues, well made, good portions, and cheap (and in cardboard packaging if that matters to you). by Bongo_Muffin (Thu 31st Mar 2022 2:22am)
  • Bibi's is definitely good, Mexita is much more what I would describe as a Glaswegian take on Mexican food. Not bad but v heavy and greasy so not exactly authentic Mexican by Bongo_Muffin (Fri 8th Apr 2022 12:29am)
  • Last taxi driver I had in Fife started speaking in tongues to me and tried to convert me to whatever branch of Christianity he was a part of, wild shit man by Bongo_Muffin (Thu 14th Apr 2022 4:31pm)

  • Just had Saffron by Paradise for the first time the other day and it's easily the best Mediterranean food I've had in the UK for a reasonable price. Would highly recommend giving it a go. by Bongo_Muffin (Tue 21st Jun 2022 1:04pm)

  • If you're looking for live music on Sunday, there's trad sessions on at the Aragon and the Ben Nevis which also tend to be full of great folk besides the ones playing. I will say Aragon has cheaper drinks! by Bongo_Muffin (Thu 7th Jul 2022 4:02pm)

  • There are tonnes of charity shops along Dumbarton Road that always seem to be advertising volunteer openings. There are two Heart Foundation locations that come to mind, but I think there are even more that need help! by Bongo_Muffin (Thu 6th Oct 2022 2:03pm)

  • God they've just announced bike lanes for parts of Dumbarton Road out by Partick and everyone in the facebook announcement is whinging as though it's the death of the West End. Absolutely mental how a part of the city with so many small shops is dead convinced that increased foot traffic will kill off said shops. • How dare OP suggest a behavioural change here, best tell them to move to a different country. Christ. by Bongo_Muffin (Fri 18th Nov 2022 3:09pm)
  • No heat at night, just loads of blankets. Makes it miserable to get out of bed in the morning, but could be worse. Also no takeaway or restaurants. Wonder how local restaurants are going to do with having reduced customers by Bongo_Muffin (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 8:37pm)
  • While we're on the subject of ovens, microwaves, etc., sortedfood just did a really great wee video on comparative power use/price. If you're at all like me, you've always wondered what the actual price per minute was and if it was worth it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nOvRikOPH8 Defo worth a watch even if it's not going to revolutionise your cooking habits by Bongo_Muffin (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 8:35pm)
  • It's the only reasonable response really. Hell I consider myself new to the city and I've never felt so offended and flabbergasted by Bongo_Muffin (Thu 22nd Dec 2022 4:29am)
