  • I think you’re mad, but what’s your pitch anyway? by BrewInProgress (Tue 3rd Sep 2019 10:51pm)
  • With Baffo and Paesano closed, I’m craving for a good pizza. What are good options for (preferably) Neapolitan pizza in west end for delivery? I had a delivery from Dario the other day which was above average in terms of takeaway pizzas. Not the best, but good, still. Tempted to start making my own again. by BrewInProgress (Thu 9th Apr 2020 9:28am)
  • The biggest upside of this year whole thing is my mom hasn’t asked me about my dating life for over a month. Even if she did, I would have a strong defence, saying I cannot see any people anyway. by BrewInProgress (Thu 16th Apr 2020 9:58am)
  • Haha, that wasn’t meant to be serious. I’m in mid 20s, mom lives few thousand miles away. Either she actually cares or the frequency of these questions correlate to her ups and downs of her own dating life. by BrewInProgress (Thu 16th Apr 2020 6:51pm)
  • I’m getting fed up with The Guardian being so England-centric while covering Covid-19. For example, tests for key workers are going to be available in England, but there’s no mention of Scotland whatsoever. What’s a good source folk read? by BrewInProgress (Fri 24th Apr 2020 10:46am)
  • There’s a difference between England-centric and Scotland-ignorant. I don’t mind when it’s the former, but latter starts to annoy me. by BrewInProgress (Fri 24th Apr 2020 2:34pm)
  • Ben Lomond might be closer, but Beinn Dubh (parking at Luss) is ~20 minutes faster. Good views too and it’s sustainable climb to the top. Kilpatrick hills are not bad as well. by BrewInProgress (Mon 20th Jul 2020 2:13pm)
  • +1, my favourite physio in the city. by BrewInProgress (Thu 29th Oct 2020 2:56pm)
  • It looks like both staff and customers have been pretty bad at wearing masks, and doing it properly. I understand some might not be able to wear the masks, but it’s sometimes too obvious people are just not bothered about it. by BrewInProgress (Tue 17th Nov 2020 4:53pm)
  • Oh, sorry, wasn’t what I had in mind. I am a driver myself but I can’t bring myself to park there and end up going in circles like an idiot. I’ve just been lucky to have a parking place for last few years as it was much quieter where I used to live. by BrewInProgress (Fri 18th Dec 2020 2:16pm)
  • I have a feeling it’s something to do with covid. Over two years, people have lost the sense of respect for others and how to behave in public. There was a guy in Mozza the other day who was on a video call. Never mind the loudness, his mate wasn’t event participating in the call - the guy was holding the phone in front of his face. Fair enough if it was an emergency, but it was all just chitchat. by BrewInProgress (Sun 3rd Jul 2022 9:26am)
  • Mugdock/Milngavie are good low level walks that follow John Muir Way or West Highland Way. You can venture off to Dumgoyne or Slackdhu if you get to Glengoyne distillery. by BrewInProgress (Tue 13th Sep 2022 5:37pm)
  • Since becoming veggie, I’m struggling with chippy style pizza, and especially calzones. I mean, greasy, cheap cheese and thick base type. I love Neapolitan ones, but just want a dirty calzone. Any recommendations for West End (Bearsden) that deliver? by BrewInProgress (Wed 14th Sep 2022 10:15am)
  • Peter Vardy Hillington were trying to sell me a car that I haven’t seen start up (as it had no fuel) with a finance deal that was ~180% total repayable. It wasn’t even a nice attempt, it was a lot of bullying and pressuring. I walked away. by BrewInProgress (Thu 15th Sep 2022 7:49pm)
  • Webster’s Bar on Great Western Road. It’s really quiet compared to everywhere else and got really nice atmosphere. by BrewInProgress (Fri 16th Sep 2022 8:51pm)
  • It’s bizarre isn’t it. One of the nicest places to be in, except the service was so atrocious. by BrewInProgress (Tue 20th Jun 2023 5:06pm)
  • It’s not a Munro and must be one of the most difficult ones to get to without a car. by BrewInProgress (Fri 23rd Jun 2023 11:52am)
  • Walkhighlands is a good website to look into planning. I would look at: * Arrochar, Crianlarich, Glencoe, Fort William ones * Any ones that you can tick off on the road to Aviemore (Newtonmore, Blair Atholl, etc) I’ve done around 100 before getting a car, it gets a bit more difficult past that and I wasn’t keen on getting up at 5am and coming back at midnight. You can also look into some Meetup groups, people will be willing to share a ride, which also gives you some company and safety. by BrewInProgress (Fri 23rd Jun 2023 11:57am)
  • Within the last week, I have seen two motorbikes, quad bike and multiple scooters/e-bikes in the West End. They’re everywhere. I get frustrated by them and sometimes a bit intimidated as they like wearing ski masks, act as if they are entitled and what not… but they don’t seem to be aggressive? I even stopped getting out of their way, forcing them to slow down, lol. They’re not supposed to be riding there. by BrewInProgress (Tue 22nd Aug 2023 11:48am)
  • In principle, I agree - and I think there’s little harm in allowing e-scooters and electric motorbikes where bicycles are allowed. I wish it was becoming more popular way to commute. However, they often cannot corner properly as they’re going way too fast. by BrewInProgress (Tue 22nd Aug 2023 1:33pm)
  • Let me guess, Bush? by BrewInProgress (Mon 23rd Oct 2023 2:45pm)
  • We rarely order food, but our favourite place is 16-20 min drive away one way… and we only get it when we are busy, tired and hungry. Probably 1-2 times a month. It’s the convenience, not the laziness. by BrewInProgress (Mon 23rd Oct 2023 7:58pm)
  • Uber showed £70-99 yesterday for a journey from Glasgow Airport to home (12mi, 20-30mins). Granted, tunnel was partially closed. Paid £28 with GlasGo, just had to wait 12mins or so. They’re not the fastest to arrive and I usually pre-book. Sometimes drivers are quite new and cars can be lower standard, but it does the job and has always been reliable. by BrewInProgress (Sat 9th Dec 2023 10:17am)
