  • I got married in Oran mor a few years ago but it was on the balcony of the main hall. Maybe about 27 guests all in. Was surprisingly affordable for there. They also had a private dining room where we ate. by CheeKiang (Fri 2nd Apr 2021 12:31pm)
  • A live near the area and it’s a riot in the summer here. Last year one of my friends found a bam taking a shite in her bin shed. by CheeKiang (Fri 2nd Apr 2021 12:38pm)

  • Lidl in finnieston had loads of eggs an bunnies yesterday. Not been in today though by CheeKiang (Sun 4th Apr 2021 12:55pm)
  • I live just along the road by the vodaphone building and I quite like it. I used to stay near Kelvingrove and it was a bit minging with folk peeing up the side of the flats at the weekend and all that. Here is quiet but close enough to still go to town/finnieston. by CheeKiang (Tue 6th Apr 2021 8:39pm)
  • Don’t know about KPM but I have rented from two companies in Glasgow and have a small dog. Both asked for an additional £200 into the deposit but other than that no issues. by CheeKiang (Wed 7th Apr 2021 6:06pm)

  • Or as it’s known locally, a picked boaby by CheeKiang (Mon 26th Apr 2021 11:09am)
  • The thing with the PVG is that it’s out of date as soon as it’s issued. Means getting one yourself is pointless. Like the other comment said, get the employer to do it since it’s them asking. by CheeKiang (Fri 30th Apr 2021 9:39am)
  • I like cafe Orlando across from the museum. Haven’t been in a while but last time a big fish supper was about £6 by CheeKiang (Fri 30th Apr 2021 9:37am)
  • You rang? by CheeKiang (Fri 30th Apr 2021 9:39am)
  • My understanding was that if you need one for a job the employer has to get it. The reasoning behind this was that the system was updated all the time so the employer had to ensure that at the point of an offer everything was ok disclosure wise. by CheeKiang (Fri 30th Apr 2021 10:54am)
  • Would disagree with you on the Kent. It’s real cheap but I thought it was boggin. by CheeKiang (Fri 30th Apr 2021 10:55am)
  • Second on Rcade, they’re sound folk by CheeKiang (Fri 30th Apr 2021 12:58pm)

  • I don’t know if it directly is, I’d liken it to happening on Christmas though. They might not observe but it’s still a time of celebration for many. I’d hope that if it happened on Christmas, Diwali or any other big festival that folk would still step in. by CheeKiang (Fri 14th May 2021 2:24pm)
  • Well damn. Wasn’t planning on the cafe but maskless folk…. Well hopefully I can be quick and stay away by CheeKiang (Fri 14th May 2021 2:21pm)
  • From the scot Gov website, hope it helps. Travel is permitted within a Level 3 area, which is currently Scotland as a whole. Currently you can only leave or remain away from Scotland for holidays or other non-essential purposes if you are going to England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands. by CheeKiang (Sun 16th May 2021 8:10pm)
  • Thanks for posting this, good to see an easy ready breakdown. Was really hoping for level 2 but even if we did move down I think I’d still have a bit of the fear until I’m vaccinated. by CheeKiang (Mon 17th May 2021 12:24pm)
  • My son, 18, just dropped into the hydro last week and they vaccinated him without questions. I got mine the same day and I’m 35. I’d just try and chance a drop in next time they are quieter. by CheeKiang (Tue 8th Jun 2021 3:47pm)
  • Was thinking of going up the devils pulpit this weekend but I read there is no parking there now after last summer. Anyone been up recently and have tips on where to park? by CheeKiang (Fri 18th Jun 2021 8:58am)
  • Couple of days. Guy that does it seems like he’d be bad value at a party. I quite like the style as well but it’s so preachy. by CheeKiang (Fri 18th Jun 2021 8:57am)
  • That’s cracking thank you by CheeKiang (Fri 18th Jun 2021 10:23am)
  • Cheers for that. I don’t know the area but I’ll look up the Whangie 😊 by CheeKiang (Fri 18th Jun 2021 10:23am)
  • It’s quality there are a few skateparks these days, generally a good bunch around them even if you don’t skate. by CheeKiang (Sun 20th Jun 2021 3:21pm)
  • πŸ₯³ congratulations by CheeKiang (Thu 24th Jun 2021 9:09am)
  • I just read that the iMax won’t reopen 😞 by CheeKiang (Wed 30th Jun 2021 10:09am)
  • I was in a lowther property for a while. I found the only way to get things done was via the property manager and not the call centres. That city building mob they use are a bunch of feckless tubes too. Every job required three visits. One to say they don’t have a part, one to say that they knew someone was out but they didn’t mention the missing part and one to say they can’t deal with it and getting someone competent in. by CheeKiang (Wed 30th Jun 2021 10:08am)
  • I’ve just moved near where they practice. Fuds woke me up too. by CheeKiang (Sat 3rd Jul 2021 4:58pm)
  • I read about this earlier. Apparently the council are carrying out repairs so getting folk off bikes to reduce risk of accident to the workers. by CheeKiang (Tue 6th Jul 2021 8:40am)
  • I’m at the village gym. Got a 20 meter pool and 3 squat racks and on of those smith machines as well as the usual weights. I really enjoy it, there is good covid precautions and it’s never that busy. by CheeKiang (Sun 11th Jul 2021 8:27pm)
  • Grew up in cumbernauld too, actively avoid it now. Went a few times about 5 years ago when I was selling a house. Seems like they kept all the pish there and just build new stuff around it. by CheeKiang (Tue 13th Jul 2021 12:38pm)
  • What’s your thoughts on Capresse? I love it there but admittedly haven’t been to Italy so no real comparison. by CheeKiang (Mon 2nd Aug 2021 11:30am)
  • What a weird misogynistic reply. - fellow Celtic fan. by CheeKiang (Mon 2nd Aug 2021 1:00pm)
  • Does anyone know what it was out for? I’ve heard a few by ma bit always late at night and always loud as hell. I actually thought it was military helicopters because I live near the hydro, figured it was practice for the COP26. by CheeKiang (Fri 24th Sep 2021 10:27am)
  • The finnieston in…. Finnieston does lovely cocktails, things I haven’t had anywhere else before. Food is amazing there too. by CheeKiang (Thu 30th Sep 2021 2:06pm)

  • I’ve seen them in see woo a bunch of times but haven’t been in recently. by CheeKiang (Sat 16th Oct 2021 1:59pm)
  • A bunch has, you can walk across the bells bridge now but they still had stuff up in front of the hydro so you need to walk round the car park by CheeKiang (Wed 17th Nov 2021 12:00pm)
  • Anyone know if there is somewhere in town or west end I can get wall brush plates to run cables behind a wall? I ordered a double thinking I would get two and ended up with one that is double wide. by CheeKiang (Thu 18th Nov 2021 11:55am)
  • Cheers, I checked the tool station and screwfix websites. They seemed to have the plates but they didn’t have the brushes so would have just left a hole in the wall with nice edging. Don’t know if I’m being daft though because I’ve no done this before. by CheeKiang (Thu 18th Nov 2021 12:18pm)
  • You should check out R-Cade near trongate they often have retro games but it seems to be more what they come across as opposed to being a supplier. by CheeKiang (Wed 24th Nov 2021 9:05pm)
  • Sounds like a shite time. That’s such a shame, I’ve seen the offspring a few times when I was younger and the crowd was always good. I went by it though as it was coming out last night and it seemed like a lot of older punks. I’m sorry you were grabbed atπŸ˜” I was at the bleed from within gig last night which was great but sauchiehall street was full of bangers after it. Must be folk going nuts after being kept in so long. by CheeKiang (Sun 28th Nov 2021 9:31am)
  • Aye that’s a fair point. I just couldn’t remember there being such a high concentration of wallopers but I am older now and haven’t been out on sauchiehall street for 10 years or so by CheeKiang (Sun 28th Nov 2021 10:08am)

  • Libraries are 10p a sheet by CheeKiang (Mon 20th Dec 2021 5:05pm)
  • I’d be surprised if you found anything in person just now, never mind the age group. I was checking out the Confucius institute for mandarin lessons at the uni, that has moved to online and they were in person classes pre-covid. by CheeKiang (Thu 27th Jan 2022 5:08pm)
  • There are “treatment rooms” now that do this. Gorbals, govan and other places have them. Most do the ear stuff one day a week so the wait is 5+ weeks long in most of them. You can self refer. by CheeKiang (Thu 3rd Mar 2022 9:04pm)
  • We used Ferguson whyte solicitors on byres road. By the way, if you can wait till September some places will do it for you for the price of a charitable donation. [will relief](https://willreliefscotland.org) by CheeKiang (Mon 21st Mar 2022 4:09pm)
  • Transport is the big one for me. I think our system is honkin. A tram or extended subway would be great and the defenestration of first bus couldn’t happen soon enough. I think large areas of the east an north are really let down because of the transport here. I’d like to see the city centre tidied a bit too, I get the high street is dying and all that but on its day the place is gorgeous. My wife and I just hop from cafe to bar when we are on holiday and walk for ages and you can’t really do that in town because of the lack of cafes and the mad drink culture. The good though, Glasgow is generally quality, some of the nicest folk in the world and there is more things to do now with activities like mini golf places, axe throwing and a nice cinema in st Enoch. by CheeKiang (Thu 11th Aug 2022 12:34pm)
  • Just hopping on to second this comment. Job board sites like indeed aren’t maintained well by the folk using them. Focus your attention directly on employers either online or networking. Don’t forget he public sector too. Civil service jobs, work for Scotland and my job Scotland always have vacancies. by CheeKiang (Mon 12th Sep 2022 11:56am)

  • Got my seafood from the fish plaice in trongate and went to Asda for the old bay seasoning, red potatoes, sausage and corn. The rest of the stuff I had at home, had to go with the kielbasa sausage instead of andouille though by CheeKiang (Wed 16th Aug 2023 10:24pm)
  • Sorry for the late bump, is this still on and can I just drop in? Anyone I should ask for? by CheeKiang (Thu 31st Aug 2023 1:48pm)
