Trains should also be pretty empty just now so you probably won't have an issue. by CluelessCarter (Wed 20th May 2020 2:25pm)

Bit extreme normally would expect a warning before a blunt firing. Maybe they want to get them out and this was the easier way.. Don't really see how it means they shouldn't partake in the EOTHO though. by CluelessCarter (Tue 28th Jul 2020 9:46am)

  • I love Jansson's Temptation. So salty and creamy woo! Many supermarkets have anchovies in tins, but I've seen [these in stock](https://brindisa.com/products/ortiz-anchovies-in-olive-oil-78g?variant=8424118681661&currency=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=CjwKCAiAt9z-BRBCEiwA_bWv-HUNzDNPewD5FNXP3yC2BJeK64tuuFZWqvCcYnhVqHos5CM-cS9o9hoCpkcQAvD_BwE) at Sweet Jane bakery in Dennistoun, is this the brand you are looking for? I imagine most upmarket deli's and specality food shops might have them. by CluelessCarter (Mon 14th Dec 2020 11:33am)

  • Yeah, that's how those systems work - it takes 10p now and then later it'll take the final amount for that day later on after it figures out what's the cheapest ticket you could have purchased for the journeys you made. For example, if you took the bus 7x in the day it'd charge you for the day ticket rather than 7x singles because that's cheaper, I hope. Atleast that's how it works in London. by CluelessCarter (Wed 13th Oct 2021 3:03pm)

  • Did my exchange in the states. This year I've seen a lot of friends from back there begin to wonder about moving out here. Obviously a lot of pull factors to do with our quality of life, but the real push to get out is the political environment and social fabric. Teachers, nurses etc. especially. by CluelessCarter (Tue 19th Jul 2022 11:53am)
  • My mate runs a couple of vans, I've also done a couple of shifts in them. So there is a big difference between your hipster upmarket food trucks and your greasy-cheap food trucks here in Scotland. The hipster, upmarket trucks, which I assume is what your referring too are mainly operated at events like beer gardens, festivals and street parties under invitation / application of the event organiser. They serve 'interesting' food for a younger crowd (Hallumi fries, unusual cuisines etc.) . Go to the Fringe in August in edinburgh if you'd like to do a bit of research. Markets/Streetfood hubs like **the Pitt** in Edinburgh or [platform in Glasgow](https://platformgla.co.uk/) have some rotating and some permenant vendors. They are essentially permenant mini festivals. Vendors might have a mobile truck they park there or get a residency at venues with a prebuilt unit that they rent. [Someone also published a book about the trucks in Scotland here...](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Street-Food-Scotland-journey-stories/dp/1785302639/ref=asc_df_1785302639/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=394366950715&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3533453129839123137&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045888&hvtargid=pla-835406522618&psc=1&th=1&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=85953219830&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=394366950715&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3533453129839123137&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045888&hvtargid=pla-835406522618) I'm not an expert on the licenses, but I'm 99% sure you can't just pull up a truck and start serving food like you might be able to in the states. From working with these guys across the fringe and also being mates with them it's a tight knit community but it's hard fucking work. Staffing seems to be a constant issue for them as it's odd shifts obviously! by CluelessCarter (Tue 19th Jul 2022 2:32pm)
  • >authentic mexican food truck, which in the states would be considered a "greasy-cheap food truck" Depends, i feel Nachos etc. are 'dirty' food whereas tacos can be seen as a bit healthier? Noone i know would do cash in hand at risk of getting shut down - but you could try asking around forsure. by CluelessCarter (Wed 20th Jul 2022 3:06pm)

  • I used to do deliveroo/Uber eats back in 17/18 - I can't say what you'd earn now adays but one thing I will say is it was a sound job when it was just beer money ontop of my loan, but when I tried to do it to actually make ends meet my relationship with it changed. Trying to ride to make enough money to get by is much harder and stressful, depends how much you need but it did offer me the ultimate flexibility while I was a student. by CluelessCarter (Fri 23rd Sep 2022 11:26pm)
  • Agree - however it the user does not understand that from the UI, then it is a bad UX. Could be solved in the UI through explanation but would be better if the tickets were not as restrictive. Eitherway - there are no stupid users, just bad design. You only know this because you have learned it at somepoint, op has not yet by CluelessCarter (Thu 6th Oct 2022 8:27am)
