  • Can't you tell that's my hand writing? by ContinuousLeaner (Sun 27th Jan 2019 3:04pm)
  • I was a bin man within Glasgow City Council. The whole place is a cesspit. It isn't a lie that they are constantly behind in work. I finished my so called horticultural apprenticeship and then shipped straight to the cleansing department and left when I could. They are constantly behind in work, just wait till the Christmas back log. by ContinuousLeaner (Thu 19th Sep 2019 8:55am)
  • 3 months. One of the many things I witnessed working there. Just before the glass bottles weren't being taken for money. The older down and outs would tear your bag open, yes your bin bag to find that glass bottle for the 30pence. Be careful what you throw away. by ContinuousLeaner (Thu 19th Sep 2019 11:01am)
  • Yes mate horrendous. Pulling a wheelie bin through back courts with your bin absolutely rammed trying make your runs shorter not knowing is it bin juice or just rain running down your back was a weekly occurrence. Every day I thought get me out of here, it wasn't for me. by ContinuousLeaner (Thu 19th Sep 2019 11:13am)
  • Exactly, we have a very poor outlook on things. If the bins were out the front, made pretty ofcourse. It would take the residents less time and also safer for the bin men. One boy fell and hurt himself in Dorchester Ave and now those residents have to put their waste out the front in tailor bins. by ContinuousLeaner (Thu 19th Sep 2019 11:46am)
  • I think that falls under the category one man's rubbish is another man's treasure? Just don't do anything scary with this large fire. by ContinuousLeaner (Thu 19th Sep 2019 11:57am)
  • Yeah i suppose youre right or in some places they can just fix the infrastructure and get normal bins out front. But hey it's our fucked.. by ContinuousLeaner (Thu 19th Sep 2019 2:36pm)
  • I believe it.. I think I would have been there 4/5 years this year. Just the same when they tell you that you aren't allowed to pull a bin up or down stairs and then send you on a run where you have to do this exact H&S hazard. That's why I quit, fuck GCC trying to make me their bitch. by ContinuousLeaner (Thu 19th Sep 2019 2:41pm)
  • Definetly mate, in my book it takes a bigger man to do the job, I'm not up to standard. by ContinuousLeaner (Thu 19th Sep 2019 2:56pm)

  • Yeah it actually does stop raining from time to time but hey, its only water let's be thankful we are fortunate enough to have homes to go to. by ContinuousLeaner (Mon 7th Sep 2020 10:58am)
  • "What does having a house got to do with the rain????" You should rethink that question and maybe... just maybe you will figure out why homes are important when it is raining. by ContinuousLeaner (Sun 13th Sep 2020 4:46pm)

  • Excatly, they don't think it through.. its not like they work for the cooperation... ps I'm an ex binman myself pulled bins in our lovely city for 2 years before bettering myself and learned a trade. As I wasn't fulfilled in my daily life. by ContinuousLeaner (Sun 7th Nov 2021 12:52pm)

  • Sorry this isn't China where my opinion and down votes are detrimental to my health. Take it which way you would like, calm down Karen. What depot is he based if you don't mind me asking ? Maybe the lifestyle suits him? I know from experience that binmen aren't all knights is shining bright armour as you make them out to be.. they're on a meal ticket, set for life as it is. by ContinuousLeaner (Sun 7th Nov 2021 3:27pm)
