  • Thank you so much! I’m looking to rent a flat with modern amenities and a clean feel and can go without extravagant frills. Safety and commute are top of my list at the moment. I luckily have about a year to save up so my budget has some room to adjust. I’ll look into the East Kilbride area. by Express_Reflection_7 (Tue 11th May 2021 10:37pm)
  • Thank you for letting me know! I assumed there was one council handling the school administration for some reason. I didn’t realize there were so many! I appreciate the links, adding to my research list by Express_Reflection_7 (Tue 11th May 2021 10:41pm)
  • Thank you! Prams won’t be an issue. I’ll definitely take a look at this station and it’s links. by Express_Reflection_7 (Wed 12th May 2021 2:24pm)
  • Thank you for this! This is really helpful to know. I was in Glasgow for 2 days in 2018, but not enough to get a feel for the area. The passenger train systems are a new concept for me (we don’t really have them in my area of Canada, unfortunately.) so I’ll take some time to get to know major stations and their links. As for my course, I’m hoping to get into the management program. I’d imagine there will be time spent in class (if things have opened up that way), so staying closer to campus may be ideal. Thanks, again 🙏 by Express_Reflection_7 (Wed 12th May 2021 2:22pm)
  • Im glad to know! There’s so much to wrap your head around in a move like this, so hearing that your child was enrolled without a problem is great news. by Express_Reflection_7 (Wed 12th May 2021 2:25pm)
  • This is great, thank you! It’s tough trying to get a feel for neighbourhoods and what they have to offer being so far away. I also don’t know any locals, so I appreciate your comment! I’ve taken a look at Milngavie and it looks pretty decent. I’ll keep it in mind as I research. Thanks again 🙏 by Express_Reflection_7 (Wed 12th May 2021 8:57pm)
  • That’s reassuring to hear. Thank you 🙏 by Express_Reflection_7 (Fri 14th May 2021 3:40pm)
  • Good to know. I might choose a neighbourhood in the west based on schools in the area. by Express_Reflection_7 (Tue 18th May 2021 5:28pm)
  • Thanks for letting me know. It’s tough getting a feel for neighbourhoods (let alone a whole city and schools) off the internet. So far I can only gather that Glasgow west, south and some parts of the north are decent. Hoping I’ll be able to get a real feel in the next year, though. Enough that I know when to aim my searches when I land. by Express_Reflection_7 (Tue 18th May 2021 11:32pm)
  • Yes, very true. lots to consider. I think I’m more interested in location and easy access to amenities these days, which is part of the draw to Glasgow and away from my small city in Northern Ontario. You’ve given me a few things to think about, thank you! If you have any tips in flat hunting, let me know :) by Express_Reflection_7 (Wed 19th May 2021 6:58pm)
  • This is greatly appreciated, I’ll definitely taking a look into these areas. I like that Glasgow isn’t a huge city... it seems pretty livable and that it offers a good quality of life. I hear the people are also very decent and your willingness to provide advice to a random on the internet is proof. Thank you again! by Express_Reflection_7 (Wed 19th May 2021 9:52pm)
  • Hey - not sure if this map is compatible with being viewed on mobile, but what do the coloured areas mean? by Express_Reflection_7 (Wed 11th Aug 2021 2:47pm)
  • Ah I see. I’ve been looking out for resources like this. Thank you! by Express_Reflection_7 (Wed 11th Aug 2021 11:16pm)
