  • I would also recommend First Mortgage. They've been really helpful in keeping my partner and I in the loop of what we need and don't need. You also don't have to pay them anything as they take a commission directly from the bank once everything goes through. by Gingeyx (Sat 9th Mar 2019 10:15pm)
  • Was passing through Glasgow Green earlier with the dogs, there definitely wasn't 100,000 people there. Good turn out but no where near that. Not sure how the actual March went. Only seen the tail end of it and some of the songs. Hope there was a good turn out at the start. by Gingeyx (Sat 4th May 2019 4:31pm)
  • I'd recommed the gorbals right by Glasgow Green. 10 min walk from the city centre or 3 min cycle to St Enoch. You can get a 2 bed, bathroom/en suite there for about £650-750 a month, council tax is roughly £180. Quiet most of the time if there's no events at the Green and there's lots of young professionals. I rent with my partner who was a student for a couple of years whilst living here with no issues. by Gingeyx (Sun 19th May 2019 7:58pm)

  • Too many folk on here saying motorists/cyclists are arseholes. There are arseholes that cycle and there are arseholes that drive. The roads in Glasgow are terrible for cyclists, motorists and pedestrians. Everyone who uses the road has to responsible, careful and considerate for their own safety and that of others and even then accidents will happen. Let's not forget that a woman has tragically lost her life in an accident, relatives have lost a family member and someone is going to need to live the rest of their life knowing that they had a part in her death regardless of who is or isn't at fault. Not really the appropriate place to be calling every cyclist an arsehole etc. by Gingeyx (Thu 23rd May 2019 3:00am)
  • It used to be. No where near as bad as bad as it used to be. Stayed here for 3 years and literally never seen/had any bother. I think the further back you go it's a bit rougher. If you can find anything on McNeil street/Waterside Place/Mathieson Place or Queen Elizabeth gardens you've won a watch. We are moving in the middle of July so I imagine ours will be back up for rent by the end of that month. by Gingeyx (Thu 23rd May 2019 3:09pm)
  • Totally agree with you about making the case for change. The roads are not adequate for cyclists in most areas. I was just saying that to pass comment on an article about some poor woman who died cycling calling all cyclists arseholes etc,. is a bit inappropriate/disrespectful. Believe me when I say I am very much aware of what happens everyday on our roads. I think that everyone has a part to play towards improving safety on our roads and that goes towards all road users and the local council. by Gingeyx (Thu 23rd May 2019 3:21pm)

  • Hi possible future neighbour! My partner and I moved into our flat at richmond gate in June. Our flat is in the U plot area and we have been told about the changes in terms of the road layout being changed temporarily until the site is completed. This would't affect us in terms of excessive noise from passing cars etc and I'd say the build quality in terms of soundproofing and the windows are fairly decent. Since moving in Avant have been great when any issues have arisen and they do follow through on what they say. I would honestly discuss it with the sales team at the office and see if there's anything that can be done to accommodate you since these changes have been made at the last minute. Hopefully they will be able to give you assurances that they will revert the road back afterwards. Alternatively you could look at different plots within the block if any are still available. I know it's very stressful, hopefully everything goes well for you. Good luck! by Gingeyx (Wed 25th Dec 2019 1:18am)
  • Ikea, aldi & lidl all do cheap plants. Highly recommend Ikea - otherwise you're just going to end up with weeds and insects in your gaff! by Gingeyx (Tue 7th Jan 2020 4:10pm)

  • I quite enjoy the pub quiz at the Bungo, not sure when it's on but been a few times and always a good laugh. by Gingeyx (Tue 11th Feb 2020 8:43am)
  • Jesus, imagine giving folk the option of knowing they're accepted in a forward thinking society, the horror. by Gingeyx (Tue 31st Mar 2020 10:57pm)
  • It's a field on a form. Why not fill it in with what you identify as and get on with it? Why does it offend you even having to consider selecting one of the fields? by Gingeyx (Tue 31st Mar 2020 11:09pm)
  • I know Tesco stocks St Mungo. Aldi stocks St Mungo and maybe 1 or 2 others but it depends. Best place I've found for West stuff is Sainsburys they've got quite a few different selections St Mungo, Wild West, Munich Red, GPA and West 4. I've not been in a while but they had them in cans and bottles. by Gingeyx (Sun 19th Apr 2020 5:55pm)
  • What if it were required by law to wear a face mask when you find yourself in situations that don't allow for social distancing? Would you buy one then? by Gingeyx (Tue 30th Jun 2020 5:38pm)
  • There's a temporary cabin close to A&E for minor injuries. Go to the doors at A&E - nursing staff there will triage you by the door and direct you to minor injuries if that's where they want you to go. by Gingeyx (Mon 16th Nov 2020 12:53am)
  • The QEUH is a major trauma centre and as such all major trauma patients are conveyed there. To take him to the Glasgow Royal ultimately means a delay in potentially life saving interventions/treatment/specialist care. If a trauma patient is taken to the GRI they will most likely need to be transferred to QEUH anyway for the most appropriate treatment. Also all patients under 16 go to the sick kids hospital at QEUH. by Gingeyx (Sun 17th Oct 2021 6:33pm)
  • No worries - lots of protocols that don't always make sense on first glance lol by Gingeyx (Sun 17th Oct 2021 6:51pm)
  • QE is a major trauma centre and is far better equipped to deal with major trauma patients. Also he was under 16, sick kids is also in Govan. by Gingeyx (Wed 20th Oct 2021 9:24am)

  • This article really over simplifies what they are doing. This is across all of the Glasgow area. They are removing certain shifts or reducing them and replacing them with alternative shifts throughout all of the ambulance stations in Glasgow. It has to do with staff welfare and health and safety as a lot of crews work a 7 on 7 off shift pattern and have done for many years. This article hypes up that there will be one ambulance to cover the southside of glasgow but this simply isn't the case. An ambulance starting it's shift in the southside could get it's first call out to the east end or Bishopbriggs while another one starting in the east end could get sent to Drumchapel. Once out of station it is a free for all. I do disagree with the proposed shift changes though. by Gingeyx (Fri 18th Feb 2022 9:34pm)
  • I paid for the same day express passport. Booked it 3 weeks ago and picked it up on monday. Was in and out in 5 minutes. I think it is appointment only. Keep checking the website and also look at alternative passport offices. I was a baw hair away from driving to Durham for mines. It was quite busy at the door and half the people there didn't have appointments. by Gingeyx (Fri 20th May 2022 10:50am)

  • Aye I've said the same. I had a similar experience about 6 years ago after parking at East Kilbride shopping centre and patched them and eventually they got bored and packed it in. by Gingeyx (Wed 4th Jan 2023 3:54pm)
