  • I've heard it has a rough reputation but that's it's calmed down a lot over the last few years. Lots of stories of Neds and the like but opinions seem to sway wildly. by Hoplite68 (Thu 21st Jan 2021 5:06am)
  • Hard pass on Calton, I'd read it was rough. Place I'm looking at seems to be towards the Bridgeton/Calton border, but is definitely in Bridgeton. With Bridgeton is it still rough or is it more that nowadays it just still has a reputation as being rough? by Hoplite68 (Thu 21st Jan 2021 5:54am)
  • I tried searching it on the subreddit but got nothing, which I'm fairly certain at this stage reddit does intentionally. I'll have another look, cheers for the heads up. by Hoplite68 (Thu 21st Jan 2021 7:29am)
  • https://www.scotland.police.uk/about-us/how-we-do-it/complaints/what-is-a-complaint/ This has happened to three people I know. One of the officers commented to one of my friends that he "drives a drug dealers car" as possible basis. Turns out they wanted the flat next door because none of them could count, or read the flat numbers. by Hoplite68 (Tue 28th Jun 2022 7:10pm)
  • A lot of companies pay their American staff more because of what are basically essential costs. Friend of mine works I'm a similar field in the US, earns about 50% more than me, yet after all taxes, health insurance etc, makes the same as I do. by Hoplite68 (Tue 19th Jul 2022 12:34pm)
