  • Hmm okay thanks! I'll take some cash with me then. by Hungry_Panda (Fri 14th Jun 2019 3:44pm)
  • Let me know if you ever find out. I'm also with Lowther and minibems. I turn my heating on at around 5pm until about 11pm and it costs around £3 for that time. Weekends I have it on longer , it's costing me about £25/30 a week. by Hungry_Panda (Wed 19th Feb 2020 5:42pm)
  • "If you arrive in Scotland from within the Common Travel Area, but have travelled through a non-acute risk country or territory in the 10 days before you arrive in Scotland, you must self-isolate at home or at accommodation you specify on your Passenger Locator Form, unless you have an exemption.  In addition, you must book a testing package and take tests on days 2 and day 8 of your self-isolation period." • If your boyfriend is travelling through the rest of the UK (i.e London) and did not come from a red risk country (Which Germany isn't) then he does not need to use managed accomodation as long as he travels directly from London to Glasgow. Info here: https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-international-travel-quarantine/pages/what-you-must-do/ I was in a similar situation with my mum back in January. by Hungry_Panda (Sat 6th Mar 2021 7:00pm)
  • Yes especially as he is Scottish resident. The fact people on this subreddit think we just leave Scottish residents homeless abroad until "restrictions are lifted in September" is mind boggling. by Hungry_Panda (Sat 6th Mar 2021 7:15pm)
  • Commenting so I can see the answers! I've been looking for some German evening classes the last few days. I've found one at Glasgow Uni, I think it's on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I think it was around £250 for a semester but maybe someone else knows anything better! [you can read about that one here ](https://www.gla.ac.uk/study/short/courses/german-beginners-a1--on-campus-options-available-/) by Hungry_Panda (Sat 30th Jul 2022 12:00am)
  • They are extremely strict with resident criteria. Source: partner is currently doing a gap year as hasn't lived here long enough to qualify for Scottish residency funding and I had to pay English fees to go to uni here. Some Unis do however offer bursaries on some courses for Rest of UK folk though it's only a couple grand and the fees and maintenance loan are around 15k a year (currently owe 79k!) by Hungry_Panda (Sat 31st Dec 2022 12:38pm)
  • I had the same runaround when I moved into my new build. I was told eventually they update it on a quarterly basis and I need to wait. It took me about 5ish months for my flat to start appearing on websites. In the mean time I stuck to ubereats for my takeaways since I could drop the pin and I just used the post code from the house across the road but my building number so that they'd eventually work out where to go for other deliveries Proper stuff i.e insurance I just couldn't get until I was added but some companies would add me manually! by Hungry_Panda (Tue 23rd May 2023 12:05pm)
