  • Ps has anyone ever misheard Gorbbles as Goebbels? I cant be the only one. by JammyWizz2 (Tue 11th Aug 2020 1:01pm)
  • I meant Gorbals. Listen to the way the announcer on the train says it. by JammyWizz2 (Tue 11th Aug 2020 3:32pm)
  • I know it exists geographically. We dont ha e a T shaped city. But it dont seem to have it's own character like the other 3 parts do by JammyWizz2 (Tue 11th Aug 2020 6:19pm)
  • Unlikely she speaks nine words in German. by JammyWizz2 (Tue 11th Aug 2020 6:17pm)
  • The city hasnt been industrial for about 45 years. Youd still have people living next to factories since car ownership only became common in the 60s/70s. by JammyWizz2 (Tue 11th Aug 2020 6:23pm)
  • PSS I realise I've made a slight pigs ear of giving examples of where is where. But that is missing the forrest for the trees. Why is there no Northend/side the way there is a Westend EastEnd Southside ect. by JammyWizz2 (Tue 11th Aug 2020 6:21pm)
  • Well the eastend gets attention despite nor having any of that stuff. Granted its negative attention. by JammyWizz2 (Tue 11th Aug 2020 6:29pm)
  • Espically given that his parents survived ethnic cleansing and would have known people whod have been killed for having the wrong skin colour by JammyWizz2 (Tue 11th Aug 2020 6:26pm)
  • Yes I'm not saying there is no north but rather it's never talked about the way the other parts are. It's the forgotten zone by JammyWizz2 (Tue 11th Aug 2020 6:30pm)
  • Yeah but the Eastend is also rough and full of drugs ect. But I guess there are no attractions or landmarks in the Northend competed to the east end. The latter has museums and the Barras. Isnt Bishopbriggs East Dunbartonshire? Pretty sure that was Jo Swinsons constitutionency and she was from Millengavie by JammyWizz2 (Wed 12th Aug 2020 3:03pm)
  • I heard it's quite scaring by JammyWizz2 (Wed 12th Aug 2020 3:07pm)
  • Let me answer that question with a question have you ever heard anyone speak of "Glasgow Northside" or "the Northend of Glasgow" as it's own area competed to the Southside and East/Westend by JammyWizz2 (Wed 12th Aug 2020 3:06pm)
  • That is true and the population of Scotland hasnt really grown that much compered to England or France by JammyWizz2 (Thu 13th Aug 2020 7:25pm)
  • Most people hire their kilts so would wear pants because youd be paying for cleaning the skid marks off it. Not to mention you dont know how many others previously wore it. If you own your own bit more up to you. If course if its winter your manhood will contract with the cold. So if you were planning on showing off by "accidentally" sliding on a banana peel your own banana might not be fully ripe. I've never had drunk 40/50 year olds go up to me in a wedding, probably cause I look 15 when I'm 25. However when my dads cousin married a diaspora Japanese woman (in Scotland). Most of her family had flown in from Japan and because I'm ginger and in a kilt. I think I got more attention than she did. by JammyWizz2 (Fri 21st Aug 2020 8:19pm)
  • My dads cousin married a Japanese woman. At the wedding all the Japanese guests wanted my picture I was I was in highland dress and and ginger. by JammyWizz2 (Sat 22nd Aug 2020 12:37am)
  • Who other than Prince Charles wears a kilt all the time ? by JammyWizz2 (Sat 22nd Aug 2020 12:48am)
  • In southern Germany some boys and men wear laderhosen all the time. Do you think kilts should be casual wear like that? Or the flowing robes men in Nigeria wear. by JammyWizz2 (Sat 22nd Aug 2020 1:01am)
  • "The rules for thee dont apply to me" apparently by JammyWizz2 (Sun 6th Sep 2020 10:37pm)
  • The current policy is dumb as a rock. Japan and Sweden have 0 lockdown are they are doing dandy. So unless Swedes and Japanese have some kind of gene that makes them immune to crona that no other race has, then its clean this is about as scientific as the Flat Earth Society. by JammyWizz2 (Sun 6th Sep 2020 10:48pm)
  • Honestly littering is a huge problem in the UK in all cities. I've been to Krakow Poland and the streets are much cleaner. I remmber a Polish man in Glasgow asking me why people litter. In his country it's considered pig ignorant. Same with Bruge in Belgium. At least Glasgow is cleaner than London that place is a pigstie by JammyWizz2 (Sat 12th Sep 2020 9:36pm)
  • The Glaswegian accent might be hard to understand at frist but since (I assume) english is your frist language you should pick up on it quite soon. Heres a tv show set in Glasgow https://youtu.be/p3BdoLP72-M for reference. If you can understand the people here you'll be fine. Defo bring an anorak since it rains cats and dogs here. You might need warmish clothing as it will be colder than what you are used to. People swear here a lot more than they do in the states just a heads up. Also our sweets (what you call candies) are much more sugary than american ones. by JammyWizz2 (Sat 12th Sep 2020 9:46pm)

  • So you think women who have covid but wear burkas are less likely to spread it then? by JammyWizz2 (Sat 19th Sep 2020 3:08am)
  • If the dear leader says so. by JammyWizz2 (Sat 19th Sep 2020 11:47am)
  • Sweden has no lockdown and isnt that the country the Nats always say we could/should be aping ? But then again Sweden has a much more individualistic culture and attitude. They have no nanny state (which is not the same thing as a welfare state-funded you think Bismark is a socialist). by JammyWizz2 (Sat 19th Sep 2020 11:57am)
  • That's because they dont have a culture of confectionery. In your grandpa's day not every shop sold sweets by JammyWizz2 (Sat 19th Sep 2020 7:35pm)
  • If cheap chinese made (how ironic) masks that you buy three for a fiver in asda actually worked. No women in Saudi Arabia would get covid. by JammyWizz2 (Sun 27th Sep 2020 1:06pm)
  • Because the law of Saudi is women must cover their faces. Have you ever read a newspaper before? Now is there any evidence that wearing a veil reduces the risk of infection ? by JammyWizz2 (Sun 27th Sep 2020 5:19pm)
  • Ever noticed that surgeons dont wear those kinds of masks? If you actually think those cloth masks work then I've got some prime real estate just 2 miles east of Mombassa I'd love to sell you my friend by JammyWizz2 (Sun 27th Sep 2020 8:25pm)
  • Please please please tell me you dont actually think the masks worn by heart surgeons are the sane masks they sell at Tesco in packs of three for £5 by JammyWizz2 (Sun 27th Sep 2020 9:40pm)
  • I'm talking these pseudo makes you buy in tesco by JammyWizz2 (Sun 27th Sep 2020 11:17pm)

  • Tbf when he says "boy sex" its probably because she said "i like girls", and prob lacks the english skills to realise that girl and boy have different conitations. If you say "i like girls" most will assume you mean women 18-30 something. While if you say "i like boys" (and you are over 20) most will think that you are a pederast. by JammyWizz2 (Thu 12th Aug 2021 9:09am)
  • You never see Africans and Chinese do this. by JammyWizz2 (Thu 12th Aug 2021 9:23am)
  • "It would be a great help if at least one of the larger taxi firms in Glasgow set up a dedicated service providing a rapid response to situations like this , where someone on their own in a vulnerable situation in the city centre could use an app to get a priority response and get home safely......a fare is a fare to a taxi but surely getting someone out of a tricky situation like this should take precedence over your regular fare?" In theory yes, in pratice everyone who is impatient would abuse it making it pointless. Plus taxis are a buisness not a social enterprise. by JammyWizz2 (Thu 12th Aug 2021 9:22am)
  • "Asian men from very strict cultures see our culture where women can do as they please and go out drinking etc as if its one big town of sin so to speak. A lot of them are raised that if a women behaves that way she's a sinner or a slut so they openly act like they are." Well Chinese culture is as sexually conservative as the Victorian era and you never hear of Chinese men doing this sort of thing. by JammyWizz2 (Thu 12th Aug 2021 9:30am)

  • I get the furniture and stuff being copies. But what about the the bits that look like there used to be walls that have been knoced down or plaster ceiling roses ? Those are super common in Victorian built houses to this day. by JammyWizz2 (Sun 15th Aug 2021 1:18pm)
  • Even the ceiling roses? And the staircase ect. I figured the furniture was duplicated but what about plaster? You see that everywhere in old houses in Glasgow, atleast the more expensive ones. by JammyWizz2 (Sun 15th Aug 2021 1:15pm)
