  • My thoughts too, I don't know the in and outs of their policy with busses being hugely late but surely they just wouldn't stop. I was already on the bus before being refused passage.. I try to look at every angle in situations and the only thing I can think of that's not discriminatory is he didn't want to give me "special" treatment but had the respect to stop and let me know why I wasn't allowed on instead of just speeding past me. There was only one passenger but the bus I got on after also only had one then subsequently filled up fairly fast, so perhaps he truly didn't pick anyone else up. Who knows, I'm not going to file a complaint without full info. by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 2:32pm)
  • The thing is he didn't seem too hostile but it was strange to say the least by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 2:44pm)
  • Yeah it's seemed pretty messed up, I'll have a think about it. Thanks for your input by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 2:43pm)
  • Yup just one other passenger at the front by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 2:41pm)
  • It does suck that I kinda feel discriminated against but I don't know if I actually was. However only 1 week ago something crazy did happen to me lol. I was out walking and this middle aged guy with a half empty bottle of Buckie gazed at me like 3 times then stopped walking a few meters to my left. I was just standing there on my phone taking a gym on pogo :D Well after I took the gym I walked past him and said "alright" to him. His face was so fkn pale, then a few secs later I hear him spit and just thought to myself it's just a jakey who's drunk outside a primary school at 3pm. Well after another 10 secs or so he starts shouting which I thought was to his dog but as more time passes he says something like "come back here you fucking chink, I'll SMASH your fucking head in!" This guy didn't even try to chase me or anything, literally all bark. Mind you I did nothing to him, would have just been another passerby if he had walked on. Well he was hurling abuse at me for a solid minute or two. There was another older man across the road too who later caught up to me to check if I was all right which was nice :) Aaannnnyways a little off topic lol by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 2:41pm)
  • I've only ever had a few busses go past me without stopping at all but never been refused entry once I entered the bus by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 4:19pm)
  • I didn't say I was 100% sure it was a racially motivated action. If he was just an arsehole, it's very likely he wouldn't stop the bus at all. Of course there's no evidence, he didn't call me any derogatory names nor did I claim he did... It was just strange, he wasn't polite or hostile, if I had to say it would be more on the hostile side. I don't know what ethnicity you are but people can have racist actions without straight up calling you a ch*NK or whatever by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 5:25pm)
  • How is it the norm? What?? Sure they are late a lot but the drivers are usually normal and logical. Not once have I gotten some bullshit where he asks me to get off the bus when it would literally take 5 secs for me to scan my ticket and be on our way. Not hostile, not polite. Firm. Not "sorry we can't take anymore passengers right now because we're 40mins late" Like I said I didn't say it was concrete racism, however it surely could be and you would dumb to think otherwise. by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 5:46pm)

  • Yeah true, I have a few stories too, some nice but this one was just strange lol by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 5:54pm)
  • Passive aggressive? by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 6:17pm)
  • Yep could be the case which is why I'm not making a complaint, also the fact that I can't be bothered :D by Keeneye1 (Mon 24th May 2021 8:17pm)
  • If the bus had just drove past me without stopping like they have done in the past before, this Reddit thread wouldn't exist. by Keeneye1 (Tue 25th May 2021 10:19am)
  • Literally this is probably the first time I felt like I may had just been discriminated against and refused service in my life. I don't know why you are thinking this is a default reaction of mine... by Keeneye1 (Tue 25th May 2021 10:24am)
  • Yeah, no concrete racism, it was just odd. However there's a chance it was racially motivated and you can't deny that right? by Keeneye1 (Tue 25th May 2021 10:22am)
  • Actually if he drove past me I wouldn't have thought as much of it. It's the fact that he stopped for me and had an opportunity to have a better look at me. Then to deny me service that would take 3-4secs for me to scan my ticket and settle in a seat. It's true he could have just been a nice and respectful guy and I'm actually 60/40 leaning towards that. Anyways I feel like I'm repeating myself from other comments now so I probably won't be replying much more by Keeneye1 (Tue 25th May 2021 10:33am)
  • Was one other passenger just at the front, rest of the bus was empty by Keeneye1 (Tue 25th May 2021 8:34pm)
