  • Missed out on a job I really wanted. Found I was their 2nd choice after the person who got it, not sure if that makes it better or worse. by LightningInMyVeins (Fri 1st Feb 2019 11:05am)

  • Our bin collection seems to be entirely random, sometimes weekly sometimes every other week. Which is shit because the bin area is a full after 7 days, gross by 10 and fucking unbearable at 13. Have to leave bags sitting beside bins, which I'm sure is great for local rats/fox populations. by LightningInMyVeins (Wed 20th Feb 2019 10:53am)
  • Happened to me a few times, police were useless about it. Check your locks into the close, front and back if you have, and if you can get everyone to check who's at the door before buzzing in. We had a dodgy lock on the front that would close but if you put your shoulder to it it'd pop right open. Had that fixed and happens less now, although I did bump into one changing their bandages on the landing. by LightningInMyVeins (Tue 26th Feb 2019 10:38am)
  • Not sure if they deliver to Partick, but Wok Way has those cardboard boxes. by LightningInMyVeins (Thu 14th Mar 2019 9:29am)

  • Read a story about armed police in Partick and Whiteinch last night, anyone know what it was about? I read about it in the Sun so could easily be a load of shite, but they had video embedded in the article showing police with some kind of rifle or something all over the road. Not seen it reported anywhere else though.. by LightningInMyVeins (Mon 1st Apr 2019 1:29pm)

  • Yeah you can, but waiting times for nhs treatments can be pretty long. Obviously the sooner you do it the better and if it’s causing you pain you might not have to wait too long. Private treatment definitely takes priority for most dentists (for various reasons, not just the money they make - but also the money they make) by LightningInMyVeins (Thu 11th Mar 2021 10:12am)
  • Try nhs first, private can be pretty expensive, the dentist might say they can’t see you for ages then you reevaluate. Good luck! by LightningInMyVeins (Thu 11th Mar 2021 10:40am)

  • My wife found an injured pigeon when she was out with our dog. Most people; myself includes tbh, probably would have left it, because you know it’s a pigeon. But the Mrs phoned the sspca and they were out within an hour to take the wee guy away. Good on you for doing what’s right by LightningInMyVeins (Wed 7th Jul 2021 9:08am)

  • It feels really Baltic atm. I’ve seen folk say it’s just because we’ve come out of such a hot summer but I don’t know that I buy that, it’s not like it was 30° last weekend or anything. But regardless, can you do some of your work from a library or cafe? Somewhere that’s already being heated - also wasn’t kidding about long johns, I got some on Amazon last year when we had heating problems and they were a life saver. by LightningInMyVeins (Mon 26th Sep 2022 12:06pm)

  • Hardly a hot take, but fuck me virgin media are a frustrating company. Internet constantly cutting out, website not loading, issue detector not finding issues in the area when said internet is down, only offering 1 day for an engineer to come out this whole month. Bastards. by LightningInMyVeins (Thu 6th Oct 2022 11:16am)

And loads of people saying they’ve had it on as soon as it dipped below the twenties and anyone lower than 17°/18° was just being a martyr meanwhile I’ve caved and set mine to 13° at night But to answer your question, great big pot of soup on Sunday to last us through the week.
