  • At least it's not yet another burger joint. Or shitty pancakes with cheap toppings. by LocationSpecificAcc (Sun 24th Feb 2019 4:28pm)
  • I despise the whole thing but you know what...If it was just the one march a year, that would be a lot more acceptable. Minus spitting on priests of course. The disruption from having so many marches is way too much. It's the taxpayer who has to pay for the police presence. Nobody should be allowed to march that often. Not the gays, not the feminists, not the secreterians. One march each. by LocationSpecificAcc (Tue 5th Mar 2019 7:58pm)
  • The Council could always charge something like £2000 for a marching licence per march.... by LocationSpecificAcc (Tue 5th Mar 2019 8:18pm)
  • Sorry for the Daily Record link but I think it's better the more eyes see this so thought to share. 101 for any information naturally, quoting reference number 1144 of 23 November. by LocationSpecificAcc (Thu 26th Nov 2020 8:11pm)
  • Thanks I know people are sometimes touchy about these quality newspapers! by LocationSpecificAcc (Thu 26th Nov 2020 8:59pm)
  • This is not tv, this is someone's son/grandson/nephew/friend, please keep that in mind. I hope this never happens to you. by LocationSpecificAcc (Fri 27th Nov 2020 2:24pm)
  • That is disgusting from Glasgow University. Who told you EU citizens are not allowed? If this really is the case, I will genuinely stop my charitable giving to them. Can you get in touch with the SRC and explain this? Perhaps the President and the Vice President Student Support. https://www.glasgowstudent.net/about/representation/sabbatical-officers/#anchor-4 This is not acceptable. I don't believe it. by LocationSpecificAcc (Fri 27th Nov 2020 9:44pm)
  • https://www.gla.ac.uk/myglasgow/registry/finance/funds/ "In academic session 2020/21, EU and International students facing an unforeseen emergency are able to apply for one-off emergency support via the Hardship Fund. UK students can apply for living cost support via the Discretionary and Childcare Funds." Try the Hardship Fund. by LocationSpecificAcc (Fri 27th Nov 2020 9:57pm)
  • Maybe you accidentally went for the Discretionary Fund which is meant for UK Students? by LocationSpecificAcc (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:09pm)
  • Try this email: Hardship Fund Applications (EU/International Students): hardshipfund@glasgow.ac.uk and explain your situation. Being an EU citizen should not stop you from getting help. I think something has gone wrong. We'll challenge this. https://www.gla.ac.uk/myglasgow/registry/finance/funds/ by LocationSpecificAcc (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:08pm)
  • This hardship fund is meant exactly for your situation unless there's something I don't know about. Especially this year. You need to keep pushing against the bureaucracy machine here. Email people. Pester people. Btw I've never been as stressed as I was as a student. Getting a full time job and stability was such a bliss. Just keep that in mind :) It gets easier, just get through it preferably with a 2:1 and have fun! by LocationSpecificAcc (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:16pm)
  • Sure, you can PM me. I genuinely don't believe they should be excluding you based on your citizenship. Sometimes the uni can be very process-driven though and somebody just stamps yes or no on the papers. That or somebody in the funding dept doesn't know what they're doing. I'm disappointed they haven't been able to help you when you've reached out in distress and you've had to come to Reddit for help. by LocationSpecificAcc (Fri 27th Nov 2020 10:39pm)
