  • Just want to chime in to say that we arrived at 4am for a 6am flight (the Amsterdam one) and were pretty close to the front of the line, and still waited over an hour to drop off bags. It was absolutely crazy slow and I have no idea how long others at the back would have waited. Security was fine though by LooseCoffeeShits (Tue 17th May 2022 9:03am)
  • Personally I wouldn’t; is it possible to ask for boss for a storage solution? It might change things for other coworkers too :) by LooseCoffeeShits (Sun 29th May 2022 2:47pm)

  • Biscuits and gravy shouldn’t have cheese in it, and the biscuit was way over cooked if it resembled a scone, sorry by LooseCoffeeShits (Tue 15th Aug 2023 9:00am)

  • As someone here on a very hard-fought-for skilled worker visa for a healthcare specialty, I’m gonna be brutally honest, I really don’t think there’s any way you’ll be granted a skilled worker visa for a bar management role. No matter how qualified you are for that type of work. Employers sponsor skilled workers that they can prove are more qualified to fill these positions than UK citizens, or in exceptions of labour shortage (how I got here) and the process for becoming a sponsor is very costly and time consuming. As you’ll know most bars are not operating on margins that would allow this type of spending, especially post covid, even if bar work was considered skilled work under the visa terms. Best of luck. There’s tons of posts about recommendations for places to live so I’d suggest searching the subreddit. https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/your-job by LooseCoffeeShits (Fri 1st Dec 2023 7:25pm)
  • Hope you’re correct on all that and like I say, best of luck. The NHS sponsored my 5 year visa in a shortage occupation 4 years ago and it cost more than £2,000 plus the healthcare surcharge. by LooseCoffeeShits (Fri 1st Dec 2023 7:42pm)
  • Hiya don’t know if you saw yesterdays UK news, among other Tory measures to reduce migration to the UK they have upped the skilled worker minimum salary threshold to £38,700 and are reviewing the list of allowed professions. by LooseCoffeeShits (Tue 5th Dec 2023 3:08pm)
