  • All of these places mentioned above are very similar, the chances of something bad happening in any of them is hard to quantify. They all have a bad name due to how densely populated they were in the 60s/70s but since Glasgow’s population halved since then they have become drastically less dangerous but people enjoy talking about how bad other place are. Have a walk through with a friend and find out for yourself. by McCaeb (Mon 25th Jan 2021 12:19pm)
  • Not under a flight path but I’m almost directly over the underground at Bridgeton Cross and after a week I no longer noticed it. by McCaeb (Sun 21st Feb 2021 12:40pm)
  • Just like our roads lol! (the amount of road tax I pay is legitimately depressing) But skating is still so worth it! If you go with a bigger wheel setup the bumps aren’t much of a problem. by McCaeb (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 10:19am)
  • Haha yeah I come from ice skating so I had the same problem also, couple days spent learning to turn the other direction and all was good. Treat yourself to some new skates and get out there! by McCaeb (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 10:17am)
  • It’s has its risks like everything else life. But if last year is anything to go by, you have to just go for it 👍 by McCaeb (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 10:16am)

  • Glad to hear your situation has gotten better mate. Yeah once you have a couple laps around town you remember where all the smooth paths are and you know your routes but aye the leaves are brutal. Just need to work with that you have I guess, maybe see you in some skates again in the future. by McCaeb (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 10:32am)
  • Everyone starts somewhere, don’t let hours or learning keep you from years of joy! by McCaeb (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 10:58am)

  • So I came from ice skating as was looking for speed and distance. Mines are Powerslide Core Black 100s. Incredible boots, super comfy once broke in and very smooth! Enjoy man, hope to see you out and about! by McCaeb (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 11:00am)

  • Around the transport museum is great and the path from there to the distillery just along the Clyde is perfect to get some good smooth practice in. Maybe try buying a bigger wheel set up too, you would be amazed at how much just 20mm larger wheels can make for a smoother ride. by McCaeb (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 6:48pm)
  • Woo, enjoy! by McCaeb (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 6:47pm)

  • Honestly no idea, I do often fear for my life at time as I’m an adrenaline junkie when I have skates on. Plus I’m only in a T-shirt with no protective gear. Investing in a helmet soon. by McCaeb (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 6:44pm)

  • You will fall on your arse and bams will laugh at you. One trait that has helped me get good at things is not caring what anyone thinks. Just go for it mate 👍 by McCaeb (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 11:48pm)
  • It might be harder to get about on pavements with quads due to their small wheels, my boots have 3 X 100mm and handle bumps really well. As far as navigating people I’m really good on skates and have no problem changing direction and weaving in and out of tight spaces. It’s a mixture of understanding the areas your skating through and being confident with your ability but I’d say just get out there and see how it goes. by McCaeb (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 7:53am)
  • It’s scary at first I get that but it’s nothing to be afraid of. Best to get really comfortable on them in an area you know well and slowly begin to venture outward, find smooth paths you know you can handle and get used to having people watch you as you skate. I’m one of very few actually covering these distances I’m sure but I’m hoping others join in when they see me floating by loving life. by McCaeb (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 8:01am)
  • Nice one. See you then! by McCaeb (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 2:30pm)

  • I live on London Road but lucky enough to have a private close. Although I did have to call the police just a couple of months ago over a boy trying to stab multiple girls outside of the William Hill. They caught him and he was arrested. Other than that I’ve been here 8 months and it’s been great. by McCaeb (Wed 17th Mar 2021 10:52am)
