  • The dictionary definition is still bereft of its actual meaning. Why is it different. Or is it different only to me? by Mikey4021 (Fri 25th Oct 2019 10:12pm)
  • This is sort of the context of my question. I'm trying to explain what a close is to non scots. by Mikey4021 (Sat 26th Oct 2019 5:35am)

  • Principal is correct, weather tends to break on higher altitude land dumping it's moisture. But a Rain shadow is a more localised thing specific to the mountain and doesn't extend beyond a small section, it's why you often see mountains with lush vegetation but a patch of sparse vegitation on one side. by Mikey4021 (Wed 23rd Sep 2020 1:09pm)
  • Slot of these features are still present. Except some on the playground equipment that was taken away along with the old hapenny bridge after the river flooded around 1994 by Mikey4021 (Thu 22nd Apr 2021 12:23am)
  • Dries are totally cool in my opinion. Unless u have somthing fancy planned dried are 90% as good and we can all use the internet. I just want to make sure my money goes local. by Mikey4021 (Wed 9th Jun 2021 12:21am)
  • Just go for black cabs. They're not that much more expensive than a normal cab, have an app and are strictly regulated therefore reliable. They can't refuse a job that's allocated through their system without a good reason. by Mikey4021 (Sun 25th Jul 2021 2:38pm)
  • Actually untrue. Their meters are complex and run on a fairly complex system involving not only time but distance traveled. My regular journeys in a taxi of any kind I've never paid more than £2 more in a black cab. by Mikey4021 (Mon 26th Jul 2021 11:35am)
  • There's loads of myths about that that your granny told you, double fares at Christmas and New year, the one you just mentioen about driving past or stuck in a traffic jam. They're all BS. by Mikey4021 (Mon 26th Jul 2021 4:05pm)
  • I'm being light hearted man, not trying to start a fight. There is obvious confirmation bias involved in things like the rolling 20p steal. The meter slows down when the vehical is stopped and they don't charge double on holidays. All of this is true. by Mikey4021 (Mon 26th Jul 2021 4:23pm)
  • Is that a joke or are they really parading in support of Prince Andrew? by Mikey4021 (Sat 18th Sep 2021 3:37pm)
  • I'm 33, Glasgow and never heard that one, it's clearly the auld guard dredging up some stuff that's been out of general circulation for a long time. by Mikey4021 (Wed 19th Jan 2022 11:42pm)
