  • Is the shawarma king thing a joke? I haven't tried it but the level of optimism for the place seems like you're all at it. by PacoRUK (Wed 1st Jun 2022 8:59pm)
  • Should have named the company Worst Bus. They've been even more shit than usual in the past 3 or 4 months. The buses used to maybe run a bit late before bit now they just disappear off the board when they're close to being due and when one does eventually show up it's always mobbed because everyone has been waiting for ages. The McGills tend to be quieter but the service there is more limited. by PacoRUK (Sun 12th Jun 2022 9:05pm)

  • Not this cycle lane but when I cycle to work and back I don't use the cycle lane because it doesn't last that long and it's way easier to just stay on the road than it is it go onto the lane and have to merge back onto the road with traffic less than 100m further on. by PacoRUK (Tue 28th Jun 2022 10:58pm)

  • Really strange that they want to find a pool that's close to a pizza express. by PacoRUK (Fri 8th Jul 2022 3:11pm)
  • Right now they're really fucking unreliable. First bus was always over priced with pretty grumpy drivers and no change given but in the past 6 months or so they've been really ropey on whether or not the bus will even show up and when one does arrive it's packed because everyone has been waiting for so long. I know covid isn't in the news as much any more but it hasn't gone away. Whole situation is crap. On the up side, I do feel like the drivers attitudes aren't as bad as they used to be and I don't think it's their fault that the service is poor. They're probably stretched thin the same as every other service these days. by PacoRUK (Mon 18th Jul 2022 3:16pm)
  • Glennifer braes is pretty decent. Bellahouston park would be good but there are too many trees up that hill. Only other place I'd suggest is Queens park at the flag pole. Pretty sure that doesn't have the rep it used to. I know you said south side but Ruchill park up past byres road has a vantage point that gives you a clear view of the campsies and would probably be amazing at sunset. by PacoRUK (Mon 18th Jul 2022 3:39pm)
  • John the barber on Nelson St is hands down the best barber in town. by PacoRUK (Fri 22nd Jul 2022 7:58pm)

  • I haven't been annoyed by them for a few years but at one point they would start squawking at 4:30am when my alarm was for 5am and then again at around 11pm when I was in bed for 10pm It drove me fucking insane. by PacoRUK (Sat 23rd Jul 2022 7:46pm)

At first I cycled on the pavement but after a few weeks when I was used to being on the road I actually found it more annoying to have to watch out for pedestrians and go super slow. As long as you're not an idiot cycling on the road is way easier. by PacoRUK (Wed 7th Sep 2022 11:52am)

  • As a postie, I want to thank you. I have a few customers that order stuff all the time and are never in. I feel really bad asking the neighbour several times a week but the alternative is for me to carry it around and waste time and effort writing the card out. Thank you. by PacoRUK (Fri 4th Nov 2022 11:21pm)

  • Yeah, not in years though. I used to really like it but the last time I was there it felt a lot more run down and the food wasn't great. It's still somewhere I recommend to people visiting Glasgow though since it is different. Plus the yogi togi chai is good. by PacoRUK (Tue 22nd Nov 2022 3:30pm)

  • I always think back to seeing this after doing a computer software course and getting really confused that someone had written File Transfer Protocol on a wall. by PacoRUK (Wed 11th Jan 2023 4:54pm)
  • Really isn't that difficult, just look for cheap flights when you have a long weekend. You're biggest roadblock will be the limitations of Glasgow airport. It doesn't have many options but if you're willing to go to Edinburgh you can get to a lot of places in Europe for really cheap. I went to Romania in October for 3 days and it cost about £200 + spending. Got a trip to Prague lined up for my next one that is going to work out at about £250 for flights and accommodation. by PacoRUK (Thu 19th Jan 2023 2:38pm)

  • Specifically in Glasgow, Ruchill park has a great view out over the campsites from up at the flagpole. Anywhere high up or wide open. Millennium bridge is a good spot too. by PacoRUK (Sun 4th Jun 2023 6:11pm)

  • I've been day dreaming of having the time to do one of the huge hikes, like the Appalachian trail or Continental Divide trail in America. With that much time off you could do a fair amount of it. I know that's a useless answer for you but I think about it all the time. by PacoRUK (Sun 6th Aug 2023 7:26am)

  • The only time this ever happens to me is at the bus stop in Ibrox. It's usually old dudes that seem to think they own the place and everyone needs to pay attention to them. I usually just tell them I don't want to talk because if you try and be polite they just won't stop. by PacoRUK (Tue 7th Nov 2023 9:24am)
