There really isn’t. If you are on Wallacewell rd there is absolutely no where to pull over down at the north gate end, central reservation is packed with trees and the little bollards are too close together to safely pull over. Plus If there’s already a bus using the Road then you’re screwed, I appreciate pulling over a few hundred yards ahead is the only option however it’s supposed to be an emergency so waiting for a queue of 10 cars stuck behind a bus all pulling over into side streets just seems a little strange to me by Revolutionary_Ad5178 (Thu 24th Jun 2021 6:06am)

Yeah covid has been a kicker, my sister waited on a 3 month waiting list just to start her lessons. Tartan tarmac usually hold meets around larkhall race circuit which has a large turnout too. I appreciate these are just meets and not shows as such. But we work with what we got I suppose. Can I ask… if someone does overtake you properly and gives you plenty room and the respect you want to receive, do you wait behind them at the lights or do you go to the front of the queue only for them to struggle to get past you again? Ok so the reason why I think not all unions ask for more pay and benefits is sometimes down to the members being happy/ not wanting to rock the boat or knowing when to pick their battles Take hgv drivers for example, massive shortage in drivers puts the ball firmly in their court as if it members go on strike then no one can replace them as the agencies cannot cover the workload like they used to do so the attitude used to be if you don’t like it fuck off and we will replace you, that’s not the case now The railway has always been a very union centric place so the unity of the workers means they have the power to bring the company to a standstill and in turn affect the general public which is terrible for a company so the bosses have to react Other workers not so much, ie a coffee barista deserves to be on soooooo much more money than they get but unfortunately there is always someone to fill your shoes so you have no power to fight It’s ok saying anyone can drive a train, but it’s time consuming to train someone and you’ll probably find the trainers are also drivers 🤷‍♂️ by Revolutionary_Ad5178 (Wed 25th May 2022 12:56pm)

The union reps will have access to the companies profit, outgoings, current wage market, other companies wages, staff turnover, staff morale, rate of inflation, hours worked etc So using this, they agree with the union members of what to aim for, so we’re on 40k a year… let’s aim for 50… company offers 45… goes to ballot… if accepted they take it… if rejected it’s back to negotiations They aren’t daft and just pulling numbers out their arse.
