Been living in a city centre flat since 2017. West end is great for pubs and nightlife, just a short sub ride away from city centre but the living is expensive. Could find an okish flat for 800. Finnieston is full of great restaurants and easy walking distance to city centre, only ever heard good things from residents. Could find a nice place for 800. Shawlands I'm not so sure about, been a handful of times to visit friends and never had a bad experience but it's a bit of a trek (relatively to the other two). You could defo find one of the nicer houses/flats for that budget though. Check every day for places and if you're interested then let them know asap as places do go quickly, especially nice ones. I didn't experience anyone trying to screw me over or anything but I wasn't looking for long (under 4 months) and I got lucky with a friend changing living arrangements my place just kinda fell into my lap. Hope this helps, I'll take you up on that pint when you have settled in!

There still are alot of great buksers out there, a bit gutted that there probably wont be any now because of the new lockdown, as soon as i need to go and find them.. typical.

It is the stuff of novels, how fitting that the setting should be a library

I get irrationally annoyed when people overuse parentheses (like you). But I agree, Glasgow is manky (just close your eyes when you're walking through bad bits).
