  • The aim is is to fly your pigeons, or flee your dos, from your dookit, with the intention of luring your rivals' dos back down into your dookit. In the past they were used to lure competitive racing birds down into the dookit, which could then be sold back to their owners or sold on to other racing bird owners. These days I think it's more about luring each others' dos down, I don't there's as much pigeon racing as their once was in Glasgow. You certainly don't see the big flocks flying around the houses, the way you used to. Is anyone still fleein' the dos competitively in Glasgow? There must be some surely? by Slang830 (Sat 16th Jan 2021 8:12pm)
  • Those were the colours of the old Glasgow city council. That was replaced by local government reorganisation, when Glasgow then became part of Strathclyde Region and the buses and trains were then coloured orange. The bus companies are now in private ownership and tend to display corporate liveries although in the city I think they're now predominately white, with some blue/purple trim. by Slang830 (Sun 17th Jan 2021 2:58pm)
