  • I'm obsessed with trying the sleeper train, but a one way journey is more expensive than an all inclusive weekend trip to Rome or something. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 10:24am)
  • Thanks for the rant haha. Yeah, I've tried looking in areas outside Glasgow too like Renfrew, but there is almost nothing good to choose from. Just hoping for a bit of luck at the moment, all I can do. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 11:29am)
  • Yeah, I've left it a bit late. Been looking for about 4 months now since my landlord is selling the flat, so have 2 months left. Just hoping for something at least semi ok to turn up! by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 11:33am)
  • >or take the crappy place till somewhere better opens That's what I may end up doing, thank god for the no 6 months rent rule anymore. My partner works in the city centre hough so moving anywhere too far becomes a bit of a miss for us both. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 11:31am)
  • I'm looking as far as Greenock, but even in that whole area there are about 6 listings. They are much cheaper, but the state of them... shame. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 12:44pm)
  • Up to £1000 for a 2 bed, and £800 for a 1 bed. With parking. There are nice ones in Partick within that price range, but they go within a couple hours :/ by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 12:43pm)
  • What agency is that? Don't really want to go with them... by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 12:41pm)
  • Omg yes! So annoying how the agencies do not update their info, or if they are too full just ignore you because you're not important now that they have all these other people interested. A few agencies told me by September it should be better, so I'm trying to stay positive. Paisley does have a couple nice flats, so I think that may be where I find something, at least temporarily. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 12:48pm)
  • I've been ready to move for about 4 months now, but as soon as I see something suitable, it's already gone without a viewing, because everyone else finds it suitable too. And I can't rent without looking at it first. I made that mistake in the past. Pictures are all nice and dandy, but when I went in, it was absolute shambles. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 12:50pm)
  • Thats sounds amazing! Hope luck looks my way soon too! by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 2:13pm)
  • Really?? I was with them in my previous flat and had no problems at all. But maybe because I was a tenant and never had any problems, so only time I talked to them was at the start and the end of the lease. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 2:12pm)
  • Thanks for the detailed comment! I think I will have to bite the bullet very soon, got a month left before I have to, so fingers crossed! by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 2:16pm)
  • Sure, I am happy to hear any advice/recommendations! by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 16th Aug 2021 2:37pm)
  • Yeah, in Glasgow area now and got a 6 month notice, because landlord wants to sell the flat on. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Tue 17th Aug 2021 9:18am)
  • Thanks for putting this out there, but I'm with my partner (maybe should have mentioned that in post) and we're a little past the stage of having roommates haha. You shouldn't have a problem finding someone pretty quickly though in this market! by The1andOnlyLov3 (Tue 17th Aug 2021 9:24am)
  • £1000 tops for a 2 bed, £800 for a 1 bed. There are ones within that price range, but either without parking or in absolute horrendous states. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Tue 17th Aug 2021 9:27am)
  • Thanks! I've looked at one there, and it was gone by that afternoon. Not giving up hope yet though! by The1andOnlyLov3 (Tue 17th Aug 2021 9:33am)
  • That's exactly me! My drive to work is 40 mins, and by the time I get to the office in time for agencies to open up, all booked up. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Tue 17th Aug 2021 9:35am)
  • God, I hate that junction. Because sometimes I need to be in the right lane, but get stuck with no one letting me in due to all the cars and have to spend an extra 5 minutes driving the long way around because I'm too much of a chicken to force my way in. I am a very calm driver and never swear, but I found that letting it go in moments where people are being idiots is a great release! Try it! 5 seconds of "Jesus Christ, You f\*\*\*ing idiot, who let you out on the roads you piece of s\*\*t. Goooooosh" by The1andOnlyLov3 (Tue 17th Aug 2021 10:28am)
  • Excluding. No bills or anything in this either. Just the flat and hopefully a parking space. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Tue 17th Aug 2021 11:25am)
  • I think I saw that one! Gonna give it a call today. Maybe because it's been so long I'm just afraid to settle now. But the more or less decent flats closer to the city centre, my budget is way too small. And the suitable ones that do pop up are gone within minutes, before I even get a chance to call the agency. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Tue 17th Aug 2021 12:20pm)
  • Yeah, but that is tops! Like literally would only be able to afford living, forget savings. £800 for a 2 bed would be ideal, but I'm just being more realistic, and looking for something quite permanent to settle in for the next 2/3 years at least. Don't want to go for a crappy flat but because it's within a price range. (Maybe I should add that this is shared with my partner, not my solo budget). by The1andOnlyLov3 (Tue 17th Aug 2021 12:25pm)
  • Thanks! That's what I may end up doing, going a bit further out to settle for a little while while searching for something more central over time. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Wed 18th Aug 2021 9:21am)
  • We did try in that area actually. Either they aren't taking viewings at all (as if a video walk through is good enough) or they say they'll call back and never do :/ by The1andOnlyLov3 (Wed 22nd Sep 2021 1:33pm)
  • Thanks for advice, I'll do what I can, because it just seems unfair. But we did check the area, and most flats do seem to be band E/F. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Wed 22nd Sep 2021 1:29pm)
  • Why was this removed??? by The1andOnlyLov3 (Wed 22nd Sep 2021 1:36pm)
  • Same here with 20k, and the fuel and travel costs are absolutely draining!!!! Over £200 (whether it's car or public transport) a month is 2.5k a year! My boss was great in paying for a new tyre when I got a hole, because I was really struggling forking out even £60 for it, but still... gosh I wanna cry now. Hope your new job is amazing!!! by The1andOnlyLov3 (Fri 19th Aug 2022 11:33am)
  • More cafes and coffee shops to be open past 4 bloody pm. I get home from work around 6:30 and would love to just catch up with friends over a coffee and cake in one of the many super cute local cafes. I don't want to always go to a pub, or a restaurant, and even the Starbucks drive throughs close their main shop around 8. The rest of Europe is great for this, such a relaxed nightlife with all these places open till 9/10, except the UK it seems. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Mon 5th Sep 2022 5:02pm)
  • Wow that's a lot of songs!! I'll give it a listen, but probably would be hard to pick out any single ones to learn haha. Thank you! by The1andOnlyLov3 (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 12:39pm)
  • There's so many!! I'll try pick out the ones I sort of recognise and go with them! by The1andOnlyLov3 (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 12:44pm)
  • Yes, we are on the top floor mostly! I will give Spotify a go, and hopefully can learn atleast the choruses haha by The1andOnlyLov3 (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 12:43pm)
  • I did find one actually after this post (didn't think before to try Spotify) and found one with 20 songs or so. Good start as I sort of recognise them. by The1andOnlyLov3 (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 12:42pm)
  • I did try to Shazam a few, but it just looked so obvious, and I was so preoccupied with the phone, felt like I was missing out. Plus there are so many songs! I don't want to learn ones that may probably not play again. Thank you for suggestion though! by The1andOnlyLov3 (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 12:41pm)
