  • You're talking about the Meanwhile Space program. It's not just Glasgow, they're doing it places like London and Paris too. And they're not buying, they're just renting for £1/year. It's meant to bring life back into areas that have laid empty and allowed to deteriorate for years. https://www.reglasgow.com/creative-solution-to-empty-shops-in-glasgows-historic-heart/ And it's not a councillor, it's the husband of the Council Leader that was involved. And he didn't buy it (rent it), it's was rented by an art gallery he was a director of. He isn't any more. https://sogoarts.com The Evening Times covered the story at the time. https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/18575956.snp-council-leader-susan-aitken-cleared-standards-commissioner-husbands-1-rent-deal/ You can dispute whether people should be allowed to rent these properties for £1/year, and you can dispute whether the art gallery should have been allowed to take advantage of the offer, but it wasn't done behind closed doors. It was all very public. And there was legal oversight. by alistairm (Fri 30th Apr 2021 2:11pm)
  • Thanks. I’m just starting out, so I’ve just been using iMovie. Managed to do everything I’ve wanted so far, except for a little stabilisation I did for the swan shot using Blender. by alistairm (Fri 30th Apr 2021 2:44pm)
  • There’s various rules depending on the size of drone. Things are simpler for < 250g drones though. This is one of the better explanations I’ve seen so far. https://youtu.be/y4xWX0cloJk by alistairm (Sun 2nd May 2021 2:20pm)

  • I know there is a memorial in the Necropolis to the Muir family that owned the mill, they had their own tragedies, but I wasn't aware there is a memorial to the people who died in the explosion. https://www.glasgownecropolis.org/profiles/muir-family-and-friends/ by alistairm (Sun 18th Jul 2021 2:09pm)
